I believe you are being too literal here! You mean to tell me, that you honestly cannot hear what Munari is saying in his posts?... He is not saying that Mary is literally God's mother... He is saying from the standpoint of Jesus being her son and the fact that Jesus is God, thus Mary can be called the Mother of God in that sense..

Of course we all know that literally speaking she is not God's Mother!.. or the Holy Spirit's mother either.. LITERALLY SPEAKING!

Try not to be so literal and single-minded and you can see where these catholics are coming from! :thumb:

or are you just anti-catholic all together? :noidea:

How many RCs can say, they came to a discernment in concurrence with the RCC before they were taught of what the RCC believed?  If there are any out there, I would love to hear from them, but I want examples.

Answer: Scott Hahn. He speaks of this in several of his books. I started rereading "The Lamb's Supper" and he writes in that book how the Mass started making sense to him because of Revalations BEFORE he bacame Catholic. Actually, to be more exact, while he was still a self-proclaimed ANTI-Catholic!

I said I think you're just trying to upset us because you started you post that came right after my explanation with three laughing faces. I don't know about you, but I don't like being laughed at when I'm not trying to be funny. I especially don't like being laughed at when I'm speaking about my faith, especially when I'm trying to explain to someone, and someone who ASKED me to answer. See my point?

Warrior,

You are right and wrong. Catholics believe that Mary literally IS the Mother of God in the sense that Mary is the Mother of God in the person of Jesus. However, I think when a lot of people say "God", they mean either God the Father or the entire Trinity. Mary is NOT the Mother of God the Father or the entire Trinity in my understanding... Its a mystery also because Jesus said that He and the Father are one, to see and know Him is to know the Father. So, if you take Jesus too literally, you could start making arguments that Jesus is the Father and the Son, which we know is not true at face value, but is true on some level... It tough stuff to try and understand.

How did the Jews usually refer to God when they spoke of God? What were the titles they used?

WFC,

racer, just curious then.. why do you keep dragging this on and on?

Because when people ask me what I think or a question, I like to the polite thing and answer. :cool2:

So, again, I'm curious, why do you care?

If it doesn't concern or interest you, why do you continue to view the thread?  So, I suggest if you have nothing new or insiteful to add, you avoid the subject.  It seems to be distressing you.  ???

Hi,

As a former Catholic, I must say that I completely agree that Mary is the mother of Jesus, and if Jesus is God incarnate then hence the mother of God.

It does not imply that those who hold to this belief affirm that Mary created God.

Mary was the true and everlasting Ark Of The Covenant.

To the Hebrews, the Ark Of The Covenant was the most revered item in all the world. Because they believed that God's power and spirit resided within those walls of acacia and gold.

Even so, it is the same with this Mary. God must have smiled down upon her when she was born. He knew that through her, he would be able to offer the world salvation, gather back his lost sheep and forever undo the evil that befell man in the Garden Of Eden.

It's a shame that so many people choose to revile this simple and humble servant of God.

It's amazing how the world despises the hebrews and the Jews simply because God chose them. The world was envious of their special relationship. What's so special about the Jews that they should be chosen and not me! And so they have been persecuted all this time.

It is the same even with Mary. Instead of treating her with some well deserved respect and calling her blessed, the majority of people would instead say...

What makes her so #### special?

What did she do to deserve this honor?

She is nobody's mother!

Jesus probably didnt even like her!

She was just a plain ordinary sinner just like me!

She is damned more than she is blessed. With Christians leading the way. Does nothing ever change? Does history always have to repeat itself?

I love her just as I know Jesus loves me. On Mothers Day I thank her and recognize her as the greatest mother that ever lived.

And just as true Christians imitate Christ because he is a perfect Son. Mary should be imitated as a perfect mother.

The heart and spirit of what Munari says rings true.

Well, thats all I have to say.

Thanks, Joe

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
