your mother was lucky! my niece was a good kid like that too.... she was an only child. i think sometimes "only child" situations are more conducive to good kids!

what works for some doesn't always work for others though, and when necessary, i believe firmly in the use of spankings. that's how i was raised, and i did ok!

Yep! a good spankin' here and there is good too... except i neva needed one after 9 years old... hehe

piano strings as a rod? this isn't biblical. the "rod", according to scripture, (and for all you hermanetics fans, according to the hebrew definition of the word) is a stick. i have no problem with using a belt, a paddle, or a hand... although that's not an issue anymore, since my kids are no longer still at home. piano strings though? might as well be using a scourge, don't ya think? that poor kid.

anyway, omega i hate to be blunt and to the point here, but i find your methods rather disturbing. you come here as a new member, not yet with enough posts to gain access to the controversial threads, and post questions that lead to very heated debates in the inappropriate forums.

the reason that a person is required to have 100 posts to get into the controversial threads is this... to give the individual an opportunity to get to know others and be known by others, and get a feel for the operational standards of the board.

i'm not a moderator, and i'm not angry with you... but i am disturbed by this, and would like to invite you to post and respond to non-controversial topics so that you can get to know us all.... because at this point, it almost appears that your purpose for joining here was to stir up heated emotions for the sake of entertainment!

Sorry, I never had any problems in any other forums, this is the first time, I understand what your trying to say. I'm just trying to seek unity amongst believers and to unite them in agreement or at least make an attempt to, I'm not saying that this the right thread or post or a Good example but speaking in general, that is the reason why I came to this forum. Sorry and I Truly Apologize if this has offended you or others and will cease as not to offend anyone on this thread anymore. That is why the Bible instructs us to respond in the Spirit of meekness so who ever is at fault may realize it unless they be overcome by demons with the spirit of anger or pride, however at times this is not the case within the Body of Believers because the Enemy loves to put thoughts into peoples head and have them believe that their never wrong or refuse correction, but in reality are receving a royal beating from them.

I'll wait til I reach a 100 Threads then I'll return. Until then you will not see me again until you say that "Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the LORD!"

j/k

Sorry for that bad humor.

But with the piano cords, I did mention in my post that it was extreme. Love and see you lovely couple around the forums!

God Bless!

don't get me wrong omega, i'm glad you're here... i'm just a bit disturbed by the observations! we get a lot of newcomers that sometimes post controversial topics one after the other for the sole purpose of stirring the pot, because they enjoy baiting others and arguing. i must say, the topics you've posted have so far turned out pretty civil, LOL.... i think perhaps there has been so much bickering lately that people are trying hard to not let things get out of hand, but topics like this (and some of the others you've posted) generally turn into free-for-alls that get quite bitter at times... and this one may yet.

maybe i'm just a little overly-sensitive to it right now because i've personally grown so weary lately over the bickering....

Blah, I don't know ancient Hebrew so I can't really do much in terms of interpreting rod except turn to a commentary (taking it next year, so just you wait  ).

Anyway, I think it's common sense. I heard one of my professors, in mentioning this, that rod was used as literal and figurative. In other words, God is saying as long as you discipline them but aren't abusive. If a child does something they know is wrong, please, please, please, spank them on the rear. It's where most of the fat is, won't leave a mark, but gets the point across.

Oversensitive? not a bit  , your merely standing up for what you believe.

I get really grouchy when I'm weary. Example below:

But I hope it doens't turn into a bitter rivalry because then I will have to answer to God, GULP!

Take Care and God Bless!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
