" Xan, but where does it say this in the Bible? Where does it say that if there is a divorce and then a man remarries, that is considered adultry? I have never heard this before. Guest Christopher Posted April 22, 2002 Share Posted April 22, 2002 Thanks to all for your replies.I have done a little searching on my own and have come up with this:Jesus said:"Every one who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery." Luke 16:18 Paul said: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 From this I understand that a divorced man who remarries is entering into an adulterous relationship, on par with many other vile sins. Is it enough to beg forgiveness, or is it the mere fact of being remarried that makes one an adulterer and an ongoing sinner? If so, there are millions of adulterers out there, even among church leaders.Again, any assistance in my struggle to understand this would be much appreciated.
