Jesus:"I thirst!"

Hello!

This is what has been taught to me.

During the very last moments before Jesus commended His SPIRIT to His Father He stated that He thirsted and the Romans Soldiers attempted to give Him Hyssop which He did not drink, why not if He stated that He was thirsty?

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. John 19:28.29

I understand that in every child of GOD there are types of thirst that they are associated with, Physical Thirst and Spiritual thirst:John 4:14 - But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh that shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Revelation 21:6,7

It seems to me that Jesus was tired of living in this Earthly Body and desired to be back as one Complete Whole with His Father in Heaven and revert back to His Immortal Body. Even so as Christians who Thirst SPIRITUALLY, will be given living water that will lead unto ETERNAL LIFE! To me by the Lord, Jesus was not thirsty physically otherwise He would have drank even if also He wanted to feel all the effects of the pain. I understand that in the verse ABOVE that it states that the Water of Eternal Life is Given Freely to whoever thirsts, then states that whoever overcomes will inherit this which would seem like a contradiction, but the Word of God never has Contradictions nor errors! It seems to me that if one is stranded in the desert or is in a situation where on is DYING of THIRST! this individual will wholeheartedly search for physical water to quench His/Her thirst, and will not give-in until their thirst is quenched otherwise this person may die of thirst, especially if in a place where water is Extremely Scarce but one source of water.

Furthermore when one finally finds this source of water He is quenched of this thirst and it is a Wonderful Feeling and He/She is satiated for the time being. Anyone who thirsts for Eternal Life with this same desire within His/Her heart as one would for physical water such as in the example above will obtain it and OVERCOME, And there is only one source and that source is Christ Himself!
