Is It Selfishness?

Should it be considered selfishness when you want prayers answer for another person but in the same token

you want something from it also?

The only example I can show is the one that I am going through which brought me ask this question.

There was a prayer started by BeartheCross in the prayer section.

In the prayer he talks about dying.

I have read the replies and want to thank all those who have replied also. They were great replies and I have learned

from them also.

But in praying for Robby I do want everything good for him in life now and always but at the same time I was

asking for this because I don't want anyone else to leave my life right now.

I lost my Mom in 2009, Dad in 2010 my sister has gotten herself in trouble with the government and I haven't talked with her

since January, and the brother that I was closest to that lived about a mile now lives in another state.

If anything were to happen to Robby then yet another person is gone from life.

So am I being selfish in asking the Lord to heal Robby but for the reason of I don't want to be alone?

Connection is a part of what makes us human and it's never wrong to not want to lose people.

There is a time when you need to let them go, and it's always hard.

The best thing to do is talk to God about your feelings, like you shared with us - yes He knows already, but I've discovered there's something about talking to the Lord ("Lord, this is how I feel . . . ").
