Why do people continue to make fruitcake or buy fruitcake?

Maybe this should be a poll.

Because some people actually like them, although I cannot figure out why. And because they never go bad. Ever.

People continue to make them and buy them because of people like me!

I'm a fruit cake who likes fruit cake! :whistling:

Now that . . . is scary.

It is simply a tradition like having a bowl of nuts on the table that no one is going to eat.
:24:

I wonder if fruit cake ever had an pagan connotation. That would be a good excuse to refuse it.

:24:

You could, but then you'd lose a good doorstop . . . :whistling:

:foot-stomp: I like Christmas lights.

 So do I, but I leave them up continuously till they all burn out! I don't use the colored ones since the cat

kinda destroyed them, so the clear ones work fine for me now.

With all the fruit cake comments I think this calls for a fruit cake recipe thread, so I am off to start one!

"Put down the fruitcake and step away with your hands in the air!" :24:

But seriously folks...

The Feast of Tabernacles is the most likely time of Jesus' birth. That said, there is nothing wrong with celebrating in December, as long as the focus is Christ.
