Can you believe the 'unhealthy twin' was aborted because of a heart defect????

I can't believe that any woman would abort a child, but it happens daily. My heart hurts for those poor babies.

Well, there are so many details that article has failed to mention. Like the fact that the other twin's life was in danger because of the dying twin. Sometimes there are no "right" answers, and mothers are forced to choose between the lesser of two evils.

There is also not a single piece of evidence to suggest that the mother wanted them dead to begin with, where did that come from? noidea.gif

:duh: From not knowing the first part you mentioned and just assuming the couple didn't want to deal with a child that had medical issues.

Not knowing the reasons behind the decision of course, but only imagining the agony the parents must be feeling now. praying for them.

This is one of the comments to that news article. I agree fully, with this lady

"As a mother of twins myself, if she was already at 32 weeks why not deliver both twins early and then at least hold and love the sick baby before he or she passes away."

Atleast let the poor little baby see the sunshine and the blue sky and feel a mother's love and smiling, proud grandparents and his/her twin brother/sister.

So sad I just want to cry.

Out of sight out of mind, I guess.

This has me thinking...

Apparently the family is taking legal action for this event.

I would love to know what the charge would be. If the charge is negligent homicide and the court rules in favour of the plaintiff, then by law any late term abortion must be a homicide?

But the family has consented to have the sick baby injected initially so even if they do win the case, they would have been fine with killing the sick baby. The only difference is that the

one had congenital heart disease and the one didn't. So killing people with congenital heart disease isn't homicide?

The same logic applies to something like involuntary manslaughter.

Either way the implications don't work well for abortion.

Other options may include a negligent destruction of private property charge, or suing for psychological trauma, which avoids dealing with the humanness of either baby, but then any baby is devalued. Which would mean that if somebody maliciously murders a baby while in the womb, at best the charge would be rather minimal.

Slippery slope....
