Spiritual FRUIT is much superior to spiritual GIFT. Also we should keep in mind that all Bible "tongues" - better, languages - were KNOWN, EARTHLY, NATIONAL dialects with nary a hint of a "heavenly gibberish" as seen so often in charismatic circles.

Re spiritual gifts today, God will minister by His Holy Spirit to those who keep clean hands & a pure heart before Him. It's highly unlikely that any Christian with unconfessed sin in the heart will come to know & be able to exercise in Godly fashion their specific spiritual gift.

Apostleship is not possible today in that there were 4 biblical qualifications required for Apostleship including that of being appointed personally by the Lord Jesus. Anyways, we have the COMPLETED Holy Scriptures today which negates the necessity of either apostles or prophets. God's FULL revelation is in 66 Books. Only false cults wish to keep adding to what God has already declared in the Holy Bible.

Will someone explain to me,how i will know what my spiritual gifts are? I feel that i have the gift of prophesy,then i also feel that i have the gift of healing,because whenever i go to the alter,i am always told that i have annointed hands.So could someone clear this up for me.

YOU say you feel you have this particular gift, the only way to find out is to step out in faith believing GOD has given you a message to speak, this is very hard at first.

as there are so many gifts and not all are mentioned you may have more than one gift which in time wil turn into a ministry, for me which helped me was to first of all find out what prophecy is and what it isnt, there are good books about which will help but you can look on the net aswell, when GOD first spoke to me about this gift i began to run away i didnt want GOD to use me in this way but at the same time i find books to read and looked at some of the old testament prophets and read up on them .

one good book that helped me was a book called finding your place in the body,

by selwyn hughes i dont know if it is still in print but any good christian book store may be able to help find one for you, also speak to your pastor or vicar about this,

depending on what type of church it is ,any good church will help you discover your area.

PRAYER is your next step or even your first step speak to GOD tell him how you feel be open with him.

step out in faith, this could be your area or it may not.

FOR me i started off in the prophetic but then i went on to praying for the sick, teaching and then evangelism, to help me i look at it this way GOD has a big tool box full of gifts and he will use you in any area that he sees fit you will notice in time that in some areas you will be strong and in some you will be weak.

as i mentioned earlier not all are mentioned in the book of corinthians but you will see some of them all over the bible, the person who becomes a prophet or is used in this area is GODS spokesperson to his people, and its a big responsibility,

i hope in time that GOD will begin to use you in what ever area he chooses because its for his GLORY and the building up of the body

hello, and God bless you. when you say "spiritual gifts", i assume you are speaking of the nine gifts mentioned in Corinthians...since you also mention prophesy and healing. if so, i'm not sure anyone could tell you anything other than....seek the Lord, and ask him to give you the answers. he will certainly let you know for sure what your spiritual gifts are. listen closely, and be patient.

as for the other kinds of gifts God gives us, i believe there are people who could definitely help you with that. besides spiritual gifts, I believe God gives us gifts we are born with...gifts he wills us to use for his glory. For instance, singing, writing, teaching, drawing, ETC. i believe we each have a ministry that God created us for...for which he has given us certain gifts to use for the purposes. the things you are best at, your past hurts, and whatever you have a passion for, most likely is what God wants you to use for his glory. if this is what you mean in asking about spiritual gifts, I suggest reading The Purpose-Driven Life. it's a wonderful book!

anyway, no matter what you meant when you said spiritual gifts, the important thing is to seek God above anyone else. never just accept what one person tells you. For instance..."that gift isn't for the church today....that isn't your gift" etc. Some will tell you that some of the spiritual gifts spoken of in Corinthians are impossible for the church today, but always seek God and be open to receiving whatever gift he wills to bless you with. my thing is...don't listen to all of the arguing. just say, "Lord whatever you have for me, I want and receive thankfully." you can't go wrong in that! thats what i'm trying to do as well....and trying to wait patiently.

First you must be born of the SPIRIT of the LORD.

Joh 3:8

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

If you are born of the SPIRIT the SPIRIT will tell you what is offered by the LORD to you.

Joh 16:13

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Joh 14:12

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
