There are 24 hours in a day .....out of that we sleep for 8 of them so that leaves 16

we work 8 hours a day either employed or at home so that leaves 8 hours for us

How do we use this time.....how much of it is given to God

we read our bible and pray ...how long

We watch tv ... how long

We spend time with friends .....how long

how much time do we realy spend with Jesus

Are we fair and honest of how much time we spend with the Lord.....its not the big things ....its the little things that count

How well do we know Him ....do we know His likes and dislikes......how much do the world see Jesus in us

we are living epistles read by men

Instead of being "religious" as most people would say I prefer to say that I have a relationship with Jesus.I pray to Him throughout the day.I try to be obedient to Him in not only the big things but the small things as well. :mgcheerful:

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.

2 Cor. 10:5

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

Like Ray Comfort says on 'Way of the Master' "I don't believe in taking a day off. I've got the rest of eternity to take a day off. Theres people that need to be saved." lol

But... of course, every one is a different temperature...

God bless.

Diligent devotion vs. works and legalism, where is the dividing line? The different is in the mindset.

  • 2 weeks later...

I try to have my "quiet time" every morning.

I have continual "conversations"/prayers with the Lord throughout the day .....I am a single mum to very active boys and the Lord knows my lifestyle and what needs to be done.

Lets just say, I enjoy the closeness big time of "our" quiet times together . :emot-heartbeat:

Sorry but I dont think we can parcel up time like this ..... I normally sleep around 2 -3 hours most, work is not done " by the clock " and when your 8 hours are up thats it and who says you cant commune with the Lord whilst you are working ??? I go to sleep talking to God ( probably bore Him to sleep too :help: ) i wake and start my day with praise and bible reading but that doesnt mean I have used up my alocated time for praise/prayer /just conversation ..Being as close mentally to god as possible is a part of life and if you can do that it reflects in everything you do 24 hours of a day
