There is a good friend of mine who though his belief rests within the Lord, time and time again falls into the way of doubt as well as tends to submit to his fears. This is something that all Christians face, and there is no denying that I myself come to have my own at certain points in my life. Still, there is always prayer, and it is important that this friend of mine comes to see that God is with him. Also that sometimes the answer that is desired may not be the right one. For God is ever watching over us, and often times knows what is best and works situations so as to make our path more clear.

How can I help him understand this? How can I open his eyes as well as his heart enough to receive God's blessing and understand that God has a plan for him too?

Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated.

Danielle

Danielle,

You cannot open his eyes or his heart, but the Holy Spirit can. I would pray for God to do that also if his faith is not true saving faith (the devils believe and tremble) that he will come to that point. I would use opportunities as the Lord leads to use the Sword of the Spirit, the Bible, scriptures that maybe have comforted you and given you hope in difficult times.

"For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "

Jeremiah 29:11, NIV

That is one of my favorites. I need to prepare to leave to pick up my child from school but may post more later as they come to mind & as I get an opportunity.

Love in Christ,

Tracey

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Luke 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Mr 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

the best way would be for you to set an example for others to see then perhaps they will be curious and want to know more but to force it on them would cause more harm then good.Take comfort that god is doing the calling it is in his hands only.At some point all will Know just not by our will but the will of god the father.

I hope this helps,i had to to find out the hard way,no matter how hard i tried i was only pushing the other away all i could do is love that person no matter what and be understanding and forgiving to all,and be a living example then perhaps to draw some approach and question me then reel em in :) God bless

This is perhaps more the terms that deep down my heart was hoping for. For there are times I get discouraged when trying to be patient with those that I love whom believe differently from myself.

Words such as that are true encouragement just knowing that God the Father, within his own good time, if acting according to his will, will aid in any situation.

Thanks both of you though, very much, for your replies. They are truly appreciated. God Bless

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
