Lightning struck the St. Peter's Basilica Monday, hours after Pope Benedict XVI announced that he will resign as leader of the world's 1.1 billion Catholics on February 28. In this photo taken by Filippo Monteforte, the St. Peter's iconic dome received a direct hit from lightning during stormy weather.

First thing that popped in my head when I read this was Luke 10:18 "....I saw satan fall like lightning from Heaven"..... I'm not implying anything.....it just popped in my head.....

The voting in of the next Pope will be a political cat fight. It is no more than that.

Watching a program on the new book "Once there was a Vatican", leads one to believe that the Vatican is divided into a system of "tribes". The "winner" has little to do with God, and more to do with politics.
