Matthew 28:19, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Ghost"

John 3:16, "For GOD so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".

A week ago i had the chance one on one with this Muslim friend of mine. We all sat down to discussed our faith and our beliefs. And then in the midst of the conversation, i asked him this questions: "Why are you people against Christians doctrines? What is Jesus to you?

He then gave me so many answers which confused me a lot.

He said "we don't believe Jesus is the Son God as you claim"

"We also don't believe he died and resurrected but rather was taken up"

"As we know, just like Muhammad and Moses, Jesus is just a prophet sent by God"

But you people says He is the Son of God thereby worshiping him and making him as God"

"There is even a chapter in the Qur'an called "Maria" which talks about him"

"Look we believe in him as a prophet sent by GOD but as He being God and so on, we disagree."

Dear friends this man left me stranded not knowing where to start from or how to convince him. i tried all my best, i think is Spirit that speaks not the carnal man. I thought the Spirit of GOD at that moment would just start teaching him through me but it didn't happen. I wasn't able to convince him.

What do you think i should do so that if next time i have such an opportunity, i won't blow it off?

Answer those questions he posed. The ones in this quote:

He said "we don't believe Jesus is the Son God as you claim"

"We also don't believe he died and resurrected but rather was taken up"

"As we know, just like Muhammad and Moses, Jesus is just a prophet sent by God"

But you people says He is the Son of God thereby worshiping him and making him as God"

"There is even a chapter in the Qur'an called "Maria" which talks about him"

"Look we believe in him as a prophet sent by GOD but as He being God and so on, we disagree."

Then you will be prepared to witness to a muslim again. Its ok to say I do not know the answer to that but I will look it up and let you know later. There are many good books out there that can help you understand the differences between what muslims believe and what the bible says/what we believe. Ron Rhodes has a good one.

Keep walking the walk, sometime words can not penetrate the harden heart. Yet sometime your actions as a Christian will penetrate a harden heart faster then a million words.

They confuse who we believe God is. We do not believe Jesus is Father God. We believe He is God's Son. We believe that Holy Spirit is also God. But we believe all three are One God, which is hard for even us to understand how the three persons of God can all still be only one God. But they are part of each other, and and are in each other just as Jesus and His Holy Spirit live in us. This is what Jesus prayed about in John 17:20-23, and John 14:25. We do believe that God raise Him from the dead and that He ascends into heaven and sits at the right hand of Father God.

Now this is getting scary, this is the second post I read tonight where people totally agree with me. :)

Yes Jerry I do believe our actions speak very loud. If a nonbeliever sees us walking the walk of Christ, they might just say to themselves "I want what they have". So what do we have that a nonbeliever might want, we have Christ in our hearts.

Let your actions speak loud.

I thought the Spirit of GOD at that moment would just start teaching him through me but it didn't happen. I wasn't able to convince him.

What do you think i should do so that if next time i have such an opportunity, i won't blow it off?

I am not an evangelist and not a gifted speaker and I really struggle to go up to people and share the gospel, because 99% of the time I'm looking at myself and are afraid that I might botch it up.  You know what, so was Gideon of the Old Testament.  He had doubts about his calling and he felt he was inadequate for the job, but God was patient with him and used him mightily.  He realised his weakness and laid it before God and God took care of it.  It is exactly when we feel utterly useless, inadequate and afraid to "blow it off" that we have to turn to our Heavenly Father and give our inadequacies to Him, because He alone is able.  In our weakness He is strong so that He gets the glory.  We are not called to save people, we can't! That's God's department and His alone.  He chooses who He wants to save, because He can, because He is God.  We just need to communicate the gospel faithfully and accurately in truth and in love.  God will do the rest.  It doesn't matter how skew you think it comes out, God will make it straight in the heart.

My point is, I just want to encourage you not to beat yourself up about the whole situation.  Just sow, God will grow :D  We are so blessed with many Christian resources these days and God has given us awesome brains to use to equip ourselves with knowledge.  We just have to pray that God will turn that head knowledge into heart knowledge through His Spirit in His perfect timing when that time comes to share His truth with others.  Like John 14:25 says - "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."

Many of you that might be reading this probably knows of this resource already which I will HIGHLY recommend. It is the "Way of the Master" series sold by Livingwaters.com at this link.  It helped me A LOT to share the gospel with ANYBODY.  It is really practical and the best of all it's biblical.  You can check out the first couple of episodes on Youtube as well, here.  Here is a specific clip where Ray Comfort witnesses to a Hindu, Catholic and Muslim girl all at once, but I would recommend going through the series step by step first.  I don't know if you live in the US, but if you do, count yourself blessed!  It's really difficult to get hold of some of the great resources in my country.  If I do, I get nailed by import taxes :/

Here is another great resource and it actually refers to Ron Rhodes book as posted above by ayin jade.  Furthermore, if you want to get a bit more "technical" you can check out this link which tells you why the Bible is the divinely inspired, authoritative, trustworthy Word of God and the Quran is not.  That is actually a great website with a lot of topics including the Muslim faith.

The main thing is what I have learnt is not to get into a debate with these people.  It is good to have an understanding of their religion, to ask questions and such and to really care, but stick to the basics and get to the point.  More often than not we go off on a rabbit trail and we lose the plot.  People need to understand that they have sinned against the God and what the consequences are of breaking His law, BUT also that He has provided A Way for them to be freed of judgement and eternal punishment - a Way to an eternal life and a living relationship with Him.

I truly hope this will help you as it did me. You are more than welcome to PM me for more info :)

If you can get someone to listen, to you on a one on one basic is the best way.  I tried forums online, but most on line that reply aren't to nice with there replies, but I know I am dealing with evil principalities in high places.  My hope is in the ones that don't reply negatively back ,but just read the post and think it through.  How many do I reach, I don't know, but I know, I reach many that don't understand scripture and some tha,t just want to debate with me.  But I carry on.  Maybe I'll reach some and the Lord will say to me one day.   Jetson, you are the reason I was able to give My gift of grace to him.
