Thanks, Angels

Guest Shilo

This is what I get....God wants his people to follow his ways and his way only...he will provide for them everything that is needed...bread, water, land, protection from the enemies, no sickness, he will drive out the enemies from before them little by little until thou be increased, and inherit the land.  They can not bow down to any gods nor serve them, or do after their works, must break down the images...all they have to do is this and God will provide for them...how awesome....God provided for them in the wilderness for forty years by giving them manna and quail and their clothes never wore out either. How Awesome is Our God if we would only follow him and do no sin...just think how he would provide for us today.

Those promises are very powerfull!!

That's exactly right. That was a covenant with Israel that if they obeyed God they would not be in need of anything. He would also keep sickness away as well.

Matt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Yes, I believe the promise remains for us as well.

Shilo I'm in total agreement and I also agree with Timothy that we may share in the promise. Praise the Lord.

Let me add this, the promises, even during the great Exodus, was not just for the Hebrews.  But there was a great multitude that also came out of Egypt with the Hebrews, they were melded in with the rest of G-d's people.  I don't remember where it is stated, but there is a passage in the Torah (5 books of Moses) where G-d tells the Israelites that He is no respector of persons and any foreigner who obeys His commands will reap the same benefits.

But, Yeshua tells us, we will be persecuted because of Him.  There is a vast difference between the people of G-d in the OT and the people of G-d in the NT.  I believe G-d wants us to be healthy, happy, and prosperous, but sometimes He allows us to go through poverty and persecution.  I don't understand why this is  , but we know from scripture, history, and what is currently going on, especially in other countries, that this is the case.  The main thing is to trust in G-d and keep His statutes because we love Him.  Whatever happens to us in this life is secondary to the age to come. :taped:
