President Obama vowed Tuesday to use the power of the pen to chip away at his agenda in 2014, making clear he'll sidestep Congress "wherever and whenever" he can while also lowering his sights for what is achievable at this stage in his presidency.

It's official.   We now know that we have a president who thinks he is above the law and can operate without the constitutional checks and balances and will by pass congress.  The rule of law means nothing to him.   It is rather frightening to think he will just make laws on his own and force what he wants on the rest of us.

Clinton was impeached for far less than what this president has vowed to do.

He does but he's not the problem. The problem lies with all the cowards in congress that won't stand up and hold him accountable.

Can't disagree with that.   This congress, republicans included, are bunch of limp dish rags.   It's too bad we don't have many real Americans elected to office anymore.

Going around Congress to get his agenda enacted.   He refuses to go down the constitutional path and violate the checks and balances put in place to limit the power of the president.   He wants to be a dictator not a constitutional president.

Well he has not been by himself in doing these things for many presidents in the past have done the same things.....   Ronald Regan was just as bad......   difference is I kind of liked what he was doing maybe with the exception of Iran/Contra...   but hey we got what we've got.

I see him as abusing his power, but what laws has he actually broken......   I know of some he has not enforced....

When did Ronald Reagan try to create law through the executive branch?

Most presidents issue executive orders; what makes a difference, though, is what the order is.  Some are very benign and don't effect the average citizen.  FDR issued tons of executive orders, but that was during WW2, and many of them related to the homefront war effort.  That's understandable.  What is intolerable is Obama's penchant for executive orders that directly impact private business and curtail the freedom of the citizen (i.e., the war on coal and the selective enforcement of Obamacare).

don't forget the selective enforcement of immigration laws, and even voting laws.....

I don't know if he's broken any laws himself in what he is doing or just perverting the powers that are part of the system, but he has definitely violated his oath to do his duties called out by the constitution.......   and he should be impeached tomorrow if not sooner.
