Where in the Bible do you see a difference between the two?

Where in the Bible do you see a difference between the two? What about the demons who came out of the man and went into the pigs, then caused the pigs to run off a cliff? Wouldn't the pigs have to have a soul in order for demons to go into them? I have always wonder about this story. Maybe someone wiser then me can explain. Â Anyway what does ptsd have to do with rather or not animal has a soul or not? PTSD has to do with a person's brain. Cow's do have brains. MOO! Guest
Â Of course the cows that experienced wolf attacks before reacted to them! That's called a survival instinct because cows are a prey species. Its normal for them to react that way. I'll bet it took lots of tax dollars and "degreed, certified professionals" with lots of letters after their names to come up with this great "discovery!" They could have just asked one of the area ranchers and saved a lot of time and money . . . but what's the fun in that?

MOO!   why would they have to have a soul? where does it say demons can only possess things with a soul. And how does that answer the question where in the Bible is there a difference between a soul and a spirit?  As far as PTSD walla actually has it right, cows are a prey species, this is just their normal reaction to being preyed upon. They can't suffer if they don't have souls. They can show a reaction that appears to be suffering but that is just a reaction hard-wired into their brains. If you believe that animals don't have souls we should be able to kill them how we please, even a slow and prolonged death shouldn't be a problem, and drowning kittens and torturing puppies would be acceptable too. Any squealing or yelping would just be a survival reaction that their brains give out. Of course animals have souls. Without a soul you are incapable of feeling anything. Next time you go hunting don't worry about a humane kill just do what it takes to kill it no matter how long it takes or how much the animal appears to be distressed. Now somebody could make a robot that's programmed to make noises, scream, shout or cry with pain whenever you prod it, poke it or stab it, but it wouldn't be really feeling pain, it would just be programmed to react to certain stimuli. Like a Barbie doll that says something when you pull a string, it has no soul it's just a machine. Without souls animals would just be machines.
