Revelation 13:11

King James Version (KJV)

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Who is this beast ?

What does coming from the earth means ?

What is the two horns like a lamb symbolize ?

Why does the beast speak as a dragon and what is and how does it function ?

1.the United states

2. out of waters means out of people Rev. 17:15 so it could mean that that this kingdom/govt came out of somewhere that wasn't populated....america...(of course we know there were  native americans but that wasn't everyday knowledge back then)

3. two horns like a lamb symbolizes this beast appears to be a christian nation/kingdom/govt.

4.  the beast speaks like a dragon in order to persecute the saints.  in that past it was done through laws made during the dark ages to punish those who were in opposition to the Catholic church at the time.

America came fom out of the sea or the earth ?

Sorry for the confusion.  America came out of the earth.  I was trying to show what you already did that if the beast came out of the waters it would mean that beast came out of an already populated area.  Think back 1400s and Columbus and then later on the pilgrims (1600s i think) leaving home for a land without a king or a pope.

How I see at this time.

Who is this beast ?

I think its part of the revive kingdom of RCC of the Dark Ages

Because its still part of the Iron Kingdom.

What does coming from the earth means ?

I think Kingdoms has came out of the troubled sea of humanity and set their kingdom on their own foundation.

This Earth Beast came from something that is already established.

What is the two horns like a lamb symbolize ?

Horns usually represent powers - I think this could be two powerful religious groups.

Why does the beast speak as a dragon and what is and how does it function ?

Because its a bunch of lies with power behind it, to deceive.

Two world beast  are symbolized in Revelation chapter 13. What is the first and second they are not the same ?

I think they are the same family.

Rev.17 says the eighth beast is of the seven(of the last one).

So the set up is with RCC will receive ten kings power as was in history.

RCC lost its civil power, I think it was 1798 he(Pope) was thrown into prison and died their.(History)

That Religious system at that time received a big blow to the head(wounded).

Dan.7 the fourth beast kingdom which is Iron is the last to rule over God's people and Israel.

The Iron kingdom started with Caesars and will end here shortly with Religious Rome.

How I see so far.

Dragons were real.

Of the many animals the Bible uses to illustrate points and punctuate prophecy the dragon is perhaps the most fearsome and powerful.   According to legend and Holy Writ the beast could not be killed by the hand of man.  It could only be defeated by God.  This is perhaps the primary reason the dragon is used as a figure of the enemy of God and man.

Job 41

Near the end of the one of the most in-depth treatments on the purposes of God in the suffering of man, scripture vindicates God by recording a detailed description of two varieties of dragon.  The purpose of the passage was to remind Job that God, not man, is the only one able to kill a dragon.

Verses 1 thru 11 speak of the ocean variety.   By some accounts, men began hunting whales as early as 3,000 BC.  However, the description of the sea beast in chapter 41 suggests that Leviathan is a creature far worse, a creature that cannot be defeated by man.   A wet demon, if the allusion is to be taken literally.  Much later in Revelation 13:1 the metaphor is repeated, enhanced and emphasized.  Leviathan, the dragon of old, rises out of the sea once again to wage war upon the kingdoms of man.  Is the Bible warning about another cheesy version of the Japanese Godzilla movies or is it talking about something real, something to fear and something that only God can kill?

Verses 12 thru 30 spake of the land variety.  Limbs and scales are described in verses 12 and 15.  From verse 18 to 21 we read of it's ability to breath fire and smoke out of it's mouth.

"When he raises himself up, the mighty fear; Because of the crashing they are bewildered."

- Job 41:25

This is not the description of a fish by any stretch of the imagination.  Verses 26 thru 30 describe the futility of human battle with the land dragon.

"The sword that reaches him cannot avail; nor the spear, the dart, or the javelin."

- Job 41:26

All of this is to prove to the reader how indestructible and powerful the dragon is when compared to man.   Finally in verses 33 & 34 the Bible underlines the similarity between the dragon and satan.  Both are powerful beyond the devices, wiles and capacity of man.  Both rule national and personal hubris.

"Nothing on earth is like him, One made without fear.  He looks on everything that is high; He is king over all the sons of pride."

- Job 41:34

Every human culture in history, except modern civilization, has recognized the danger and reality of the dragons that once roamed the earth.

Every human culture in history, except modern civilization, has recognized the danger and reality of spiritual evil that roams the earth and seeks whom it may devour.

Many animal species once thought to be extinct are being discovered again.  Will we ever find evidence of living dragons in our time?  Maybe.

Spiritual danger and evil is believed to be extinct by everyone but Hollywood.  Will the inhabitants of earth soon relearn of its reality in no uncertain terms?

This much is certain if the Bible is to be believed.

And I think you do.

Bear in mind the Bible's warning that only God can slay a dragon and only Jesus could defeat the namesake of the earthly beast.  Even so it cost Him His life.   According to legend, the blood of the beast was poisonous and acidic.  According to the Bible and those who know Him, the blood of Christ yields health and eternal life.

Can we expect to win against the evil one on our own?  We cannot.   As we see the day of combat draw nearer, those who are wise will yield to the gentle prodding's of the Holy Spirit and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ who alone can defeat the evil one.

and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...

Who is the beast? The False Prophet. He is also referred to as the "second beast".He will work with the Antichrist and Satan in the end times as the third party in the unholy trinity.

What does coming from the Earth mean? This could mean he comes up from the pit of hell.It could also mean that he comes from unholy lowly circumstances.

What is two horns like a lamb symbolize? The false prophet comes like a lamb, with persuasive words.Sympathy and good will for others.

Why does the beast speak like a dragon? It means that his message is the message of a dragon see Revelation 12:9.This identifiies the dragon as the devil and Satan.

I cant agree with your first point because beasts are primarily kingdoms. This is therefore the false prophet kingdom. Sure the wording can also refer to a specific leader, but then your interpretation has to include the leader and the kingdom. The background that identifies the symbol of beasts with kingdoms is Daniel 7, which lists 4 beasts and describes them as kingdoms. Revelation 13 definitely alludes to Daniel 7 due to the mention again of the leopard/lion/bear and so the precedent set in Daniel 7 follows into Revelation 13.

furthermore, the beast is a wild beast, this is what the word means. It isn't both a wild beast and a small domestic lamb, the picture that comes to mind from the Greek is a large aurochs, like a buffalo. This "aurochs" has two horns like a lamb. Again, little horns are already identified in Daniel 7 and Daniel 8 as being small geographical divisions of large kingdoms. So this huge powerful wild beast (kingdom) has two small geographical centres in charge (like two cities).

This is the correct way to approach the symbols of Revelation 13, if one is open to careful study... but of course prophecy is subjective and open to interpretation, so I don't judge those who disagree.
