Homosexuals and their supporters have pushed this issue into the forefront. They are the ones fixated on this lifestyle and they are hell bent on make the rest of us accept it as normal. They are the ones making this a public issue and we who do not want marriage redefined and do not want our children forced to accept homosexuality as normal or acceptable are of necessity respond to a threat against the fundamental Christian values that have been a part of American society for centuries. The homosexual community is throwing this stuff in our face and the treating our response as some irrational fixation with this particular lifestyle. They want something called "gay rights" which is complete nonsense. Gays have the same rights I do. Those rights are granted in the US Constitution. There is no separate set of rights just for gays or for any other group. Gays want to be treated like a minority and they compare themselves to African-American community and the civil rights movement of the 1960's. The difference is that African-Americans were fighting for civil rights that were already theirs as citizens of the US via the Constitution. They were not fighting for special "African American rights." Gays are fighting for special rights. They want rights granted to them that are not in the Constitution. Gays are not being denied employment, they are not forced to drink from separate water fountains, or forced to use separate bathrooms. They are not being told to sit in the back of the bus. They are not being denied the right to vote or run for office. They are not prevented from starting and own business, owning property, or segregated into gay-only schools. Many i mention this to dont like this but.. it seems to me The gay thing is a cop out. its wrong but its not the thing doing all the damage and while everyones focused on it they have an excuse to forget what is doing it. Most people are not gay so are not guilty of that sin and would never be, but so many are guilty of all the others that are tearing our society apart and it gets ignored. I dont understand this fixation on gays while Greed is rampant and television teaches our kids to lie and tempts them into atheism pornography and idolatry as well as Anti Christian thinking. Why isn't there action on about that stuff instead of such a fixation on gays (2-4% of the population apparently doing everything and causing everything)? Why doesn't my church and forums protest Alcohol, smoking, nightclubs, consumerism,TV, fast food chains, advertising companies, media lies and excess because thats why our kids stopped wanting to go to church and dont want to. Society is not disintegrating because of gays its because we are ignoring what is the problem. There is no "fixation" on gays. That is always a device people who either overtly, or covertly support homosexuality, or just are not comfortable calling it what it is use to justify not speaking out about the problem. If your church does not also point out the dangers of the abuse of alcohol, smoking, and the dubious lifestyle that bars and nightclubs bring, you need to find a different church. And if you think that television, fast food and buying things are sins, you need to gain more understanding, because none of those things are sins unless they are carried to extremes that most people do not carry them to. When discussing a specific sin, using a line of relativism compared to another sin does not work. One sin is not relative to another. Earlier you used the sin of gluttony which cannot be compared to homosexuality or other sexual sins because you are not involving another party in your sin as you are in any sexual sin. So the two are not relative, even if one could use relativism. Homosexuality is the only sin I know of that God actually states that after a certain point, He simply stops convicting it's practitioners of it's sinfulness and completely gives them over to their sin. That is pretty harsh for a sin that you claim should be viewed as being on the same level as gluttony. Here is your post number #25: Problem is sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of gluttony and Lack of to the poor and needy. Ezekiel 16:4949 “‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.Everyone thinks it was homosexuality alone but that is a myth. I don't think god is fond of gluttony much either from that verse. This is another device that people who support homosexuality often use to eliminate any condemnation of that particular sin. That Sodom & Gomorrah were not destroyed because of homosexuality and/or other gross sexual sins. The problem is, Jude tells us directly that they were: Jude 1:6-8 6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. 7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen. Sodom & Gomorrah were destroyed because of sexual immorality, primarily, but their sins were many. Verse 49 says that they did not help the poor and needy but it does not say that that is what they were destroyed for. Verse 50 says they were destroyed for the "detestable" things they did. The word abomination is used in the KJV, and abomination almost always refers to either sexual sin, idol worship, or both. Prominent and society-accepted homosexuality is always a sign of a society in steep and accelerated moral decline and it is almost always a sign of a society/government/entity that is close to collapse. So to downplay it's contribution to our society's decay, either intentionally or unintentionally is to both ignore, and to fail to understand the fundamental problem. Unfortunately, those who want to make room for homosexuality as normal and acceptable have rejected God's word and His truth because they prefer lies and deception and hate the truth of God's word. Leviticus 18:22 for example. That doesn't mean it is worse than the sins that Christians commit, but it is a sin. There is a push in America for its sinful nature to be denied. The problem really though, is that homosexuality is no longer just a sin. On the other hand, the bible says to obey authority and the laws of the land. Also, in the U.S. there is a separation of church and state. In the early years of the U.S., homosexuals were put to death. Jefferson proposed not death, but castration. Yesterday, I was at the base commissary (grocery store), shopping for groceries with my wife and daughter. As we walked through the front door the very first thing we see, not 10 feet from the entrance is a massive display proclaiming June as LGBT Pride month. There were two massive poster boards, one stating "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Month" and a quote: "Diversity is the heart of America's strength." The other poster board had portraits of 5 mlitary leaders that are currently not heterosexual. A table with a rainbow flag on it was also set up, along with the following books: Stonewall Riots, Rainbow Pride Flag Origins, Origins of Drag, Pink Triangle, along with a few other books, dvd's and business cards. I posted a photo of the presentation on facebook and wrote: "This was in our local base grocery store today, and placed where family and children can see it. It is very inappropriate and shameful." It didn't take long for the pink mafia/rainbow flag brigade to tongue-lash me on the phone, my facebook wall, and other proxies, ie. family members, etc. My sister-in-law is a homosexual, she used to be a missionary, and traveled the world witnessing for Christ. She quit the mission work a few years ago and 2 years ago began a homosexual relationship with a roommate. She called me and was very upset about what I had posted, and she took it personally. At this point I feel she must be dealing with some very difficult emotions with her lifestyle choice, I would say she is emotionally disturbed/damaged at this point. She doesn't understand that her lifestyle choice is doing that to her, and lashes out at anyone who dares to object to her lifestyle choice, or the community she has chosen to become a member of. Since it was my wife's sister that got so upset, my wife asked me to take it down and I did, out of respect for my wife. But, I am furious at this point, this is what homo-fascism looks like. Fascism begins by destroying families and forcing you to choose sides. Once families have been broken, it moves on to the next level, your livelihood, then your neighborhood, then your community, then city, county, state, nation. It will progress that way for each and every person touched by it. She claimed she was concerned for me, and that I could get demoted for what I put on facebook, but that sounded more like a threat than concern. That's not something I'm worried about, I know what it takes to get demoted in the AF. But, you can see the subtlety of how oppressive she is becoming in how she views her lifestyle. One of his sons adopted the gay lifestyle and it quickly became apparent that no negative views of homosexuality would be tolerated by him anymore. And this was a person who was always very open-minded, liberal, and claimed he wanted to try and be in agreement with everyone. He asked me, directly, to stop condemning homosexuality as a sin and when I told him I couldn't do that, he became hateful and belligerent with a quickness. I was informed because of my beliefs, I could no longer be his friend. My wife has a long-time friend that recently did the same thing. This is how they both silence opposition, and it is also how they attempt to insulate themselves from any negative feedback about their lifestyle. I'm sorry to hear that.
