First let me say that it is FAITH over WORKS as you can read in the book of Romans written by the apostle Paul. These people are saying to the Lord on the last day, "Hey look at what good deeds I did in your name" But the Lord says " I don't know you" why does he not know them, if these people think they know him. In order for Jesus to responde to someone like this means that their FAITH their HEARTS were NOT TRUE... yes they were good people but were their works ALL for CHRIST? In Romans we also learn that God chooses the ones he will save, and he give them to Christ... not everyone is saved..sorry but thats the way it is. People can lie to themselves and think they are saved but you can only be brought to Christ through GOD's wishes for his Good Pleasure. Obviously because Jesus says that some people will proclaim his name and yet he doesn't know them simply means they weren't choosen people more like people trying to come to Christ ThemselVES and thats not how you get there. If you disagree, and you believe that you can come to Christ yourself...than pick up your bible and study Romans closer you CAN NOT miss it. Not arguement. I hope this helped..

In our fallen state we dont want the things of God by our fallen nature, so we have to ask God to Save US. But through the Holy Spirit because we cant come on our own all you can do is hope and pray that you are amoung the elect that the Bible talks about. if you start to get mad you will harden your heart, asking questions like how can a Just God do this! (Quakes) We should be glade that god saves some of us , we should all go to hell. He already knows who is saved or not.

Your faith has to should fruits or you have a dead faith..... they are not works that you are doing for yourself.. they are works that come out of you because you are filled with the faith... you cant help it! you just have that desire to be good and show fruits!! You feel the guilt of even considering sin, thats when you know a change has been made in your life.

If God didnt choose us , than no one would come to Christ at all.

Well, Cara...the Lord FINALLY convinced me that He DID choose me. It took about nine years of following Him and it took thank long for him to convince me that I was really "chosen"....since the foundation of the earth.

I had to know. I asked, "BUT WHY? I mean, Geez, Lord...of all the people out there, why ME? Aren't there more attractive, brave, bold, strategic, clever, awesome, cooler, neater people in the world than me?"

I have a real hard time with this part. I read that it was Jesus who actually chose us but that God the Father who "drew" us.

So, Jesus chose us, the Father draws or woos us, and we respond. I'm actually blown away that He would waste His precious time on me but He does...and man, is He ever so patient and gentle and kind!!!

The more I see by His example how kind an example He is, the more excited I am to be His. I want to reflect Him so badly....it's a joy and honr to belike him.

It's truly wonderful. I don't understand it but Cara....He picked us and I don't get it but boy am I sure grateful!!!!!

Well the problem is in Romans we are told that no one seeks after God...I agree with this. However it's a strech to say that because no one seeks no one chooses. I have done an in depth study of the issue and can say that I believe everyone has the chance to accept.

I :) would say that it is nothing in us that makes Jesus pick us its not that I am better in anyway than another. Jesus views us all as fallen people of sin not as clever, good looking, kind, witty or anything like that.

And as for you saying you did an in depth study on people accepting Jesus? Ok so let me see would you agree with this? ... Jesus wants all of us and it's up to us to accept him into our lives? If thats the case than that would contradict the statement that we are all fallen and dead in sin and wouldn't choose to follow the Lord if we weren't drawn to Him by God. You saying that any person ON him OWN can say ok I want Jesus in my life..ok Jesus ready here we go..Ok now im a chrisitian. I can't agree with that..Romans clearly says and That we are choosen before we were even thought of being born. Now for someone to even have the will to seek Jesus Christ, bam that came from God that was all predestine. You should be very thankful that God picked you and give Him total credit and glory for it none to yourself.

I'm trying to understand what you're saying and I think you misunderstood what I stated. I don't believe any of us in our fallen nature can choose on a whim to accept Christ. I believe there must be a working of the holy spirit within our lives prior to our comming to Christ...however I believe that the Holy Spirit will prepare us and bring us to a point where we can accept. If anything, the Bible teaches nothing against man's ability to choose...it merely speaks against our ability to seek.

ok than i agree but i'll say this... the Bible also says that the ones he chooses will never turn away. Therefore you kinda dont have a choice...wouldnt you agree? But yea I see it in the world today when I talk to people I know that don't believe they "choose" not to accept Christ. Sure thats the way it appears from the outside, inside them they simply couldnt say yes, even if they wanted to..but they wouldn't want to...lol...But yes we agree. Good I hate debating with a brother when there are millions of unbelievers out there. Peace be with you.

lol...well...I think we might disagree on limited atonement. Yet, I think we agree on the essentials of it. Such as, I believe that we have the choice to enter into the covenant...but once we enter in we cannot leave it. Again, too complicated to explain...but yeah, we agree.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
