The following was posted Wed. (Nov. 6) on the White House Web site.  I invite Worthy Board members to comment on the President's statement, as well as to this question:  Why in the world are so many U.S. Christians so blindly trusting of this man, in light of his refusal to acknowledge that Islam is not a "peace-loving faith," as he calls it, as evident by the call in the Koran to slaughter Jews and Christians?

---------------------------------

President's Greeting for Ramadan

"I send greetings to Muslims in the United States and around the world as you observe the holy month of Ramadan.

Islam is a peace-loving faith that is practiced by more than one billion people, including millions of American Muslims. These proud citizens contribute to the diversity that makes our country strong, and the United States is grateful for the friendship and support of many Muslim Nations that are vital partners in the global coalition to fight against terrorism.

The Qur'an teaches that Ramadan is a time for fasting, prayer, worship, and contemplation. Muslims observe this month by renewing their dedication to caring for those in need, doing          good deeds, and strengthening family and community ties. These actions reflect many of the values that Muslims share with people of other faiths across our Nation and around the world, including courage, compassion, and service.

America remains committed to freedom, justice, and opportunity for all people. During this         season of reverence and examination, we continue to work together for a future of peace, tolerance, and understanding.

Laura joins me in sending our best wishes for a blessed time. May you be well during Ramadan and throughout the coming year. "

GEORGE W. BUSH

Islam is a peace-loving faith
Does anybody believe that line of rot any more?

These proud citizens contribute to the diversity that makes our country strong
Actually the country is strong in spite of "diversity", not because of it.

Those were the only real howlers that I noticed, and they were drawn directly from the Political Cant Dictionary.

I really had to comment on this. Islam is a peaceful relgion. The word Islam means surender. to them that is surrender to Allah (God)

I hate to Burst some bubbles but I have to. The God of the Koran Allah is the same as the God the father that so many Jewish people recocnize. I'm not saying that I think that Islam is the one true relgion, but I have to clarify a few things.

Secondly the Bible isn't all peaches and cream either, for example, read Esther.  Esther 9:5 "So the Jews smote all their enemies with the sword, sloughtering and destroying them and did as they pleased to thosse who hated them."

please do more reaserch in the future.

Today many who call themselves Christians are not into truth. NO,Islam is not a peaceful religion. For I believe that in 1997 Islamic leaders preached that those adhering to Islam should kill us if we will not agree with the Koran and believe as they do. Islam=I slam

Not only have I studied Islam, I lived in the largest Muslim country in the world...Indonesia. Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, albeit the Indonesians are more moderate as a rule. They do have their fundamentalist factions and those are the ones who butcher Christians.

Sadly, I find that is true with almost every "religion". Religion is a burden on mankind. The only truth lies in "relationship" found in the one and only Son of the Living God...Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Yes, I've lived with, eaten with and spent many long, long hours with Muslims. Some are very pleasant. Some have a sense of humor and can be really funny. Muslims are human beings...people. They are people who, like us, need a Savior to bring them into real fellowship with the one true God.

You can call him God or you can call  him Allah, (the Indonesian word for 'God' is 'Allah') but the fact remains that the only way to Him is through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Our real enemy aren't the Muslims, per se...our real enemy is Satan, who exploits man in his ignorance of the truth.  Cat

Amen Cat. Any religion that offers supposed salvation by works and especially without Christ is evil, no matter whether its adherants murder people if they don't convert or not. The world is focused on the religion of Islam right now, but Hinduism is just as evil and so is Buddhism ect. Salvation is only found in Jesus, amen. Man wants to work to get it (pride issue), and work will not ever restore that relationship that was broken by sin. All these religions do nothing with the sin issue.

I thought 'Islam' meant submission. That's not quite as flowery sounding as surrender.

Meanwhile, a veteran missionary from Nigeria has said that she is deeply burdened at the naivety of Americans about Islam. During her time in Nigeria, in her town alone, 200 churches were burned to the ground by Muslims and hundreds of Christians killed just because they were Christians. She stated that the western mindset has not come to terms with Islamic fervor and fears we are in for a horrific and rude awakening.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
