Sufferring..yet they choose to ignore the solution

It really pains me to see people in so much desparation, where their spirit is crying out, no, screaming out, for help. And they come to you, near forcing the Good News out of you..but deep down you have a feeling that the discussion will be a waste of time. But you tell them anyway, for God is limitless. Afterall, what we deem as impossible, He can do in a flash!

But as I was there, trying to converse with this lost soul, all I could feel was frustration. I could see his pain and his need, but I could also see the stubborness, I could almost hear the enemy telling him that what he needed was not what I was talking about, that his salvation is not the answer.

Imagine that, heres a grown man going through some issues...discussing them with someone whose talking sense, but he doesn't want to openly admit it...yet his eyes, facial expression and body language clearly expose him.

Why do people that are going through so much, who are searching for answers choose to close the door on a possible solution?? When little do they know that they have just shut the door on the REAL and only solution..the truth, the "get out of jail" card, the way to be alive instead of dead?

I understand the enemy has much to do with it, yet we all have free will. So, as much as people allow themselves to listen to the lies and thus swing their free will towards them, there are also people that can use their free will to choose the way, the light, the Truth that is Christ Jesus.

If anyone is reading this and they can relate to someone in their lives like this, i.e. they would rather disregard the truth than to accept it, or even worse, accept the truth but choose to ignore it, then remember this:

The battle is NOT ours. We merely plant the seed and possibly water the seed, but growing the seed is out of our control - thats for God to do.

God bless.

Yes I can relate. My husband is/was? a great Christian man and this summer just decided he was not happy and had not been happy for 2 years. After 8 years of marriage he left me for a 21 year old girl and drugs, alcohol and obseesed with pornography and who knows what else. It was a total shock to me because we had a great marriage and he was my best friend. The worse part is turning his back on God though. See like you said he knows the truth yet is ignoring it because of the lies Satan is telling him. You are right all we can do is pray for those to come into the saving light.

Fiverottendogs, I feel your pain and will pray for you. As much as this is a trial for your husband, it is also a major trial for you. Stay in the faith - God knows the overall plan, the bigger picture. And, as hard as it seems right now, things do happen for our good - because God DOES love you. More than you could ever comprehend.

As for your husband...remember the battle is not ours - no matter how much you feel responsible (or not), IT IS NOT OUR BATTLE!

The Lord is all powerful, all seeing, all knowing.

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" - whilst we are here on earth in our human flesh with our human brain, we will NEVER be able to comprehend God, and realistically, we do not need to - just trust Him.

May God bless you abundantly...and with a trial as large as this, I wouldn't ne surprised if they have already started - and they'd be revealed to you in God's timing.

Much peace and love to you fiverottendogs.

Just_Saved,

Boy oh boy do I feel your anguish here! I feel as if they already know that Jesus is the answer, and they know that we are probably going to tell them that... again, but they are hoping that we will somehow say something to justify their sin instead. I believe that people understand that they need to accept/follow Jesus but they are stubborn to relinquish control. They want to have "fun" and if they accept Jesus, then "fun" is out the window... so they think. They think they will have to "give up" everything. AND THEY'RE RIGHT! They will have to give up condemnation, damnation, death, their ashes for beauty, lack of peace, etc..!!!

It's odd. Most people will choose a known pain/problem over an unsure cure/answer. I mean that people tend to choose to wallow in their sufferings because it's familiar to them. They are actually more comfortable staying where they are than to risk "shaking things up" and giving a solution/Jesus a chance to work in them. Because it's scary! What if it doesn't work? Fear of the unknown vs. the known of their current misery.

Utterly heartbreaking when we know the truth! The reason they come to us in the first place is because they see something in us that they want and don't have. If they only knew they were seeing Jesus in us.

Fiverottendogs,

I'm so very sorry for your pain.

I recently went through a heart-wrenching break-up with someone that I loved dearly. I felt like I wouldn't survive the pain, even though the break-up was necessary and, I believe, God's will.

We weren't married though. We didn't have the time and emotions invested that you have with your husband. Knowing that, I can't even come close to imagining how you've suffered!!!

My thoughts are with you, my southern Sister. (Knoxville man here!) I may not always remember to keep you in prayer, but when I am on the boards and see your name/posts, believe that I will lift you up to the Father for comfort and wisdom.

JUST SAVED - I read your profile and let me tell you. You are wise beyond your 25 years!! Yes it has been a major battle for me also and Satan tried to get my eye off the prize many times. I went through major depression this summer and lost about 65 lbs. in the process (which was good). BUT now I am strong again and ready to fight the old devil back. You are right also. The battle is not mine -it's the Lord's. That's why I was in depression longer than I needed to be because I was trying to fix it instead of letting God have it. I have turned it over to God now and couldn't be happier. Oh I still miss him alot but I know God is going to do a work in my husband and our relationship will be better than ever. God will return what has been stolen and more!!!!!

KEITH- Thank you so much for your thoughts. It has been hard and no one realizes the pain unless they have been through it. BUT what Satan has used for evil-God has brought beauty out of it. I have grown so much in the Lord it's amazing. And God is not through bringing out the beauty for there is more to come

Thanks you 2 -those words from you both made me cry to know we can have a place where we can uplift and encourage one another. YOU GUYS ROCK!!! :emot-hug:

You're more than welcome fiverottendogs. We are here for each other, and helping our brother's or sister's in Christ is one of the reasons we are here. And knowing that I am helping to lift up my brothers and sisters gives me a great happiness inside.

In short fiverottendogs, it was my pleasure.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
