Deliverance, she was admonishing me, not you. :24:

Yikes Work - Putting a limit on God there?

God uses many things to get His word across.

Not sure why you are singling me out or why I offended you, Laura. I said that I'm sure they have brought some to Christ and that I respect the intentions, but that I prefer another method.

What we DO see is Christ and His followers approaching ppl, putting them at ease, conversing with them, and sharing life with them. We see relationship. I guess that's the biggest problem I have with tracts. It's not that they don't present the truth..it's that they are so impersonal and completely remove the element of relationship (which is what our entire message is all about).

Making disciples requires more than presenting the truth and demanding a response. It requires our lives.

Thank you, Tess! Amen. :24:

Picked up two tracts to distribute. One on healing and the other end times.

Years ago, while going into the men's restroom, I came across a Chick Track.

What a piece of trash! Not only theologically flawed, but it also attacked other Christian denominations, which the author had no clue about.

I threw it in the trash where it belonged.

"In your face religion," turns more people away from the Lord, than attracts them.

"A tree is known by it's fruit." More people are drawn towards the Lord, by observing Christian's, who humbly practice their faith and are seen as people of compassion and mercy.

Mother Teresa converted millions, but didn't hand out Bible tracts. Her witness to the Christian faith, and continues today.

If you don't live the gospel, your preaching will do more harm than good.

I'm not at home now so I can't give you specific information on its whereabouts but the place is called The Free Tract Society and is located in Los Angeles on York Bl. If you want I can get the address for you.

Not wanting to repeat myself (see above message about the tree bearing fruit) I will just add one more to it. There are active and passive ministries as well as people. Some do no ministry at all yet say they are ministering by living their lives. Yeah, right! Whatever comforts you. I call it lukewarm. Passive ministry such as screensavers, t shirts, and bumper stickers all have their place. Then there is the other extreme, do nothing and say your ministering through living your life. This doesn't even qualify as passive ministry. Why not just say, "I don't want to get involved" and be done with it.

I was pleasantly surprised today while I was shopping a woman was passing out tracts on becoming born again. She was probably in her 50's and of Haitian descent. It was a nice surprise.

HMH,

I haven't been able to come to this board lately becasue I am working on my website.

Love to all
