And welcome... I believe this poster like the apostle Paul did not believe he had reached the prize but like all Christians presses on toward the goal

Guest shiloh357
Paul was pressing on toward the goal of the prize of the high calling of Christ. In other words He was pressing on to receive his reward. Paul was saved. Salvation is not a reward or a prize. Salvation is a free gift. We work for a reward not for salvation. I believe this poster like the apostle Paul did not believe he had reached the prize but like all Christians presses on toward the goal So you are saying Paul never considered himself saved? the day of judgment has not arrived yet, the whole concept of Salvation is being saved from a future event, until the day of judgment arrives we are being saved and receiving the seal of salvation as a garantee that we were called to be saved I'm sorry but I'm not a Calvinist, and do not adhere to a OSAS theology, I don't believe Paul did either
Guest shiloh357
Wrong seandavids, and it has nothing to do with being a Calvinist. The fact is that eternal life is a present day reality. Salvation is today not merely something in the future. John 5:24 and I John 5:11-13 both tell us that we can be assured today that are saved. Paul says in Rom. 8:16 tells us that the Holy Spirit witnesses to our spirit that we ARE (present tense) the children of God. I have passed from judgment into life. Salvation occurs in three phases: Justification (past), sanctification (present), and glorification (future). While we experience salvation in phases, we are saved NOW, not in the future. We have already been judged. We are judged righteous. The ONLY judgment that awaits believers is for their works to be judged to determine their reward. Guest
Even Now? And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, Ephesians 2:6 ~ Wrong seandavids, and it has nothing to do with being a Calvinist. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Romans 4:25 (NIV) Amen~! Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2 (NIV) Amen~! By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10 (NASB) And Amen~! I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
