Guest
Christians are, by default, already born again. We make a choice to choose Jesus to become our Lord and Savior of our lives. When we do that we are born again. Born of the Spirit of God. Beloved, I Believe This Is What Brother Meant Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:21-

When we are born of the Spirit we become Christians. God seals us with His Spirit and Christ is born in us. What a miracle. We think natural birth of a baby is a miracle. How much more is the new birth of becoming a Christian and bearing the life of Christ in us.

Guest Teditis
No, Christians are not born again by default. Otherwise Jesus would not have told Nicodemus that he must be born again. Was Nicodemus a Christian?
Guest shiloh357
Nicodemus was not a believer in John 3. But by the time Jesus had died on the cross he had become a believer.
Guest Teditis
Nicodemus was not a believer in John 3. But by the time Jesus had died on the cross he had become a believer. Then he became Born-again... you can't be a Christian without being "born again".
Guest shiloh357
Right, but you said they are, by default, already born again. There is no "default" in being born again. A Christian is one who has made the choice to accept Christ and be born again. That is not a "default" state.
Guest
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:5-7 ~ Jn.3:5 says water and the spirit - so Christians do not have to be born again - twinc ~ The Spirit I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matthew 3:11 So Christians Are Either Born Again That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:6-7 Or They Are Not Christians It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
