I see the city lights all around me
Everyone's obscure
Ten million people each with their problems
Why should anyone care?

And in your eyes I can see

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a sea of faces
Your body's the bread, your blood is the wine
Because you traded your life for mine

Sometimes my life, it feels so trivial
Immersed in the greatness of space
Yet somehow you still find the time for me
It's then you show me your love

And in your eyes I can see
And in your arms I will be, yea

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a sea of faces
Your body's the bread, your blood is the wine
Because you traded your life for mine

If only my one heart
Was all you'd gain from all it cost
Well I know you would have still been a man
With a reason to willingly offer your life

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a sea of faces
Your body's the bread, your blood is the wine
Because you traded your life for mine

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a sea of faces
Your body's the bread, your blood is the wine
Because you traded your life for mine
Just one in a million faces

I love Christian songs but again--really who are they singing about?

To me it's obvious.  Christian music can be many different things to different people.  Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, el al, have done whole albums on praise and worship.  One of my first Christian CDs is by a group called Starfield.  It was in the Worship section of the Berean Bookstore I was in.  They are exceptional and I bought all their CDs, but they don't get as much airplay as Sanctus Real, who they sound somewhat similar to.  I bought Switchfoot albums before I new they were Christian.  On one of their DVDs it shows them praying together before going out on stage.  Music is personal and if the lyrics bother you, maybe you should listen to more traditional hymns.

As for me, when I consider music outside of CCM, I tend towards instrumental Jazz, some Classical, some blues, some hard rock from the '60s, '70s and '80s, alternative rock from the '90s and '00, but not current heavy metal or pop.  I hate pop music and always have.  I do not feel these are uplifting to me, although they may be to some.  [As a child, I would go to sleep listening to Black Gospel music, much to my mother's displeasure.  This was pre-rock 'n roll.]  Personally, my music tastes are somewhat eclectic.  :)
