The Catholic Church holds the pope almost to the same regards as God, there are many, many things that has been presented by the papistry that are in direct contradiction to the Bible. Ask most Catholics and they will tell you praying to the saints isn't idolatry and is in fact commanded by God. They will also tell you sprinkling and infant baptism is approved by God to. You should learn what the word idolatry means. Although it may not be biblical that the Catholic Church teaches we have friends in heaven to pray for us and hear us, that's not the same thing as idolatry. And no, you clearly do not know what the church teaches , because the church does not put the Pope on the level of God, and the church teaches that the pope is almost never infallible and that he is a sinner. If somebody is going to say the church is going to be the religion of the Antichrist that will dominate many nations, those of us who see the falsehood in that statement should be able to present our case as well. I'm just saying that if the Catholic Church were to become the religion of the Antichrist , it would have to throw out what it teaches about Jesus and what it teaches about faith and morals, and adopt a whole new set of teachings, so that it was a whole different Church. Vatican II did not change any teachings about Jesus Christ being God and that our purpose in life is to love, worship, and serve him. No theology or Faith and morals was changed. Those teachings as well as nearly all of the other teachings on faith and morals would have to not only go , but be replaced by teachings that promote the opposite for it to be the faith of the Antichrist. So, I'm open to the possibility that a Pope will be the Antichrist , but he will then have the very difficult task of rewriting what the church has taught for two thousand years. For the pope to be the Antichrist , He would have to say the church was completely wrong on almost all of its Theology and teachings on faith and morals and that he is the anointed one to change everything and create a new church.
