Should a alcohol swerling drunk get baptised, should a prostitute or murderer get baptised, or the average womaniser Christian that goes out each weekend to score like the rest of the world.

Cod like a parent loves his children, but like a parent doesn't necessary like what they always do.

You are accepted as you are but there must be REPENTANCE, meaning not just sorry for your wrongs but also a change in your previous life of sin.

The bible once again is clear as always.

When being  baptised you are declaring you wish to be a follower of Christ, not a part time follower, there is no such thing.  To do it your way is mans way your way, thats putting it in the category of legalism.

Why would any one want to be baptised if not to follow Christ, its not a ticket to salvation just being baptised.

I'm sure Judas was baptised but i don't know if that will giving him a free ride to heaven.

a thought has occurred to me...would this same discussion be going on if we substituted adultery for homosexuality?

A sinful lifestyle is not just limited to homosexuality. It is anything we do that is apart from what God says is right and wrong. A person who continues to sin on purpose with no intention / desire of changing is one who is living a sinful lifestyle. Doesn't matter what the sin is.

Yes, God loves everyone.

A person who openly holds that position as a homosexual and continues to willfully sin regardless, you are basically cutting your nose to spite your face so to speak. It would not be wise to do so! When there's no kind of acknowledgement of any sort, you are treading in dangerous water! No sin is greater than the other. SIN is SIN period!

My suggestion to gays is this: Don't focus on the sexual issue - rather pursue holiness. Remember that all of those who accuse you are not sinless - many of them may commit bigger sins than yours! Be holly, ask God to sanctify you, love your neighbor, love your enemies, be honest, help the poor, trust God in all situations, be patient, be truthful, forgive others, meditate about the word of God day and night, pray as much as possible, etc. When you are close to God you'll feel that carnal pleasures are not at all important and it will be easy for you to let go of them. Or maybe God will show you that you can be happy with someone of the opposite sex.
