Pew Research Center said Wednesday that 49 percent of what they term "nones" left their church and religion because they "don't believe." Another 20 percent said they don't like organized religion. Other reasons included "common sense" and a lack of belief in miracles. [ Source ] View the full article

Gods truth is the same yesterday, today , and forever. It does not change nor does He. It is called the great falling away.

God's truth does not change, but people do and how His followers present and proclaim His truths have changed. As for the great falling away, I think that is a bit presumptuous considering that in many areas of the world Christianity is booming.

As for the great falling away, I think that is a bit presumptuous considering that in many areas of the world Christianity is booming. Like God's Truth, human nature has not changed since the Old Testament days of the kingdom of Israel. In times of peace and plenty, people believed they were self-sufficient and felt they did not need God. Yet when things weren't going quite so well, they repented and returned to Him. It is a cycle that repeated over and over again. I noticed the OP was referring to a Pew survey of Americans. There's no denying we're a post-Christian society. The results therefore are not surprising - God will have to deal with us Americans as He sees fit. Yet I agree it IS presumptuous to extrapolate from that survey of Americans that the problem is universal - worldwide. Personally, I've heard of some amazing conversions to Christ taking place in other parts of the world - even in the Middle East. In a world seemingly gone mad, it is good to remember that God always has His remnant. His will be done! Blessings, -Ed
