This question is primarily to non believers but when unbelievers say they they have prayed for a sick loved one or whatever the case may be, where and who is this prayer going to? Thanks? I guess it goes to whoever it is they trust and obey. As YHWH says in HIS WORD, those who trust in idols of any kind and so forth (the world's religions), "Let their idols of wood and silver and gold save them in their day of trouble" ..... Others, meanwhile, who seek YHWH and HIS KINGDOM (would you call these people "unbelievers"? ) and who keep seeking YHWH and HIS KINGDOM YHWH PROMISES they will FIND HIM. So, HE KNOWS who and /or what they are praying to, and HE KEEPS HIS WORD. (so you can guarantee anyone that HE will reward them IF they believe that HE exists and that HE REWARDS those who diligently seek HIM. (but then again, are those what you call unbelievers ? ? ) ... YHWH rescues all who trust and rely on HIM. (as it is written all through HIS WORD) HE curses anyone who trusts in flesh/ wood/ stone/ silver or the strength of man to deliver them. I've had unbelievers tell me they are divine or in touch with the divine. They tend to recant when I ask if I can pray to them for divine blessings and healings. Thanks? to be honest, God is not a stupid machine, but a living being with most righteous understanding first of all there are two main categories of people, religious and irreligious - according to the biblical terminology, the first ones when stumbling are called "widows", the other ones are called "fatherless" (James 1:27) as it is written in James 1:27 as well as in many other scriptural verses/passages, if any person wants to please God, they have to take good care of the "fatherless" and "widows" - IOW, we have, first of all, to show righteous understanding - let's say a woman has a baby, the baby is too young to be left to always make a decision alone in any circumstances; for example, let's say the baby is a poor eater and refuses to eat the most part of the wholesome food they need, will the mother have to leave her baby to starve?! realistically speaking, one completely irreligious and non-occult person is also too young, even if only spiritually, to be left alone in the hands of the world which would defile/ruin everyone it could - we have been able to see a pandemic of millions of schizophrenics, pandemic of millions of autistics, pandemic of millions of homosexuals, etc. who have not even known exactly what they are victims of or what they are affected by on the other hand, if some people are aware of the fact that only people competent enough in medicine are worthy to be doctors, but being too incompetent in medicine they decide, begin and continue to officially present themselves as doctors and due to their incompetence undermine the health of many patients, will we have to say that they are guiltless or to approve of their professed contribution as (ostensible) medical specialist?! so, as St Paul says in 1 Timothy 5, some "widows" might turn out to be too unrighteous, and even impudent to not stop sinning, in their way/manner of practicing religious faith... It depends on how we pray. If we pray like the Pharisee in the parable, prayer comes back to us: "The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector." (Luke 18:11).
