It made sense to me. Anyway I hope I can word this right, the pastor said that the reason we need to pray is because it gives God permission to intervene in our lives. That God basically allows us to live out our lives as we want with out his interference. But that when we call on him for help for ourselves or some someone else in pray, we are giving him permission to intervene. Does this seem right to you all? It seem right to me. But I have never heard pray explain this way before. After all he always knows our needs so why do we have to ask. Now I understand why we have to ask. I think when we pray we begin to see things differently and relate to life and others on a deeper level. Prayer over time I believe becomes centered on simply being with the Lord, asking is no longer the center reason for prayer. Bad things happen to everyone, no matter one faith or lack of it. Though intervention could come more often that we realized, it is simply a part of the thread of our lives. I never heard it put that way either, so it is food for thought. I ask for His heart as I am incapable of loving my city as commanded. So I have to seek the Fathers heart to achive that. And He is faithfull.
