The term religion is man made, however, it is not about us, it is about Christ- the Savior who died a sinner's death on the cross so that we could have everlasting life. If there is any definiton of religion, that is it.

If you come together to worship God, with people who believe the same things as you do, you have a religion.

Is this man made or inspiration from the Holy Spirit?

Religion...man reaching out to God.

Salvation...God reaching down to man.

Once God has saved us he expects a certain change to take place in our lives.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

That behavior is what the world calls religion. Thing is, without having the relationship with the Lord first, the religion is vain....empty.

The question wasn't do you have a religion.......it was religion is?..... And Religion I think speaks to the liturgy and traditions of those who believe alike. I think it has somewhat of a sour connotation with it now. Because partially of non believers and many external sources deem religious people tend to go over the deep end being "religious" and not checking their beliefs and practices with God's Word.

We are partially man made..... I mean my parents had to do something.....but religion is governed by people, faith is governed by God.

We are ALL sinners, Jesus died for us all, including Adventists. BTW, SDA's believe that Jesus died for their sins, how are they any different than denominations that differ in their beliefs? We are all Christians, I don't recall the gospel giving us the power to decide who goes to heaven and who doesn't.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Sorry in my haste I confused antonyms, I meant to refer to Jahova's witnesses and Mormons. Seven Day Adventists I will admit do have their faith in Christ for the most part. Now that being said my statement did not say anyone was not going to heaven did it? Even those who belong to these cults may find Christ, but it will be inspite of their church not because of it.

Now i will not further discuss SDA here, if you want to discuss there beliefs and practices feel free to start another thread.

God Bless,

Dave
