Im enjoying the little baby humming birds and hummingbird nests in my patio. Hope they get big fast so they are strong for for southern migration.

I don't have humming birds near me but sunbirds which have been looking for a perfect spot to make their hanging nest:)

I love small birds.

I see this sunbird eats nectar ... a yellow-bellied sap sucker?  :P

Lol! And they are shy too:)

I like these bee eaters as well.

Australian Rainbow Bee eaters.

Answers in Genesis has a nice hummingbird article (no evolutionary mumbo jumbo, all from a biblical perspective).

Nice  Reinitin, so lucky to see the nests!  I've never seen any nests accept in videos or pictures.  I had no luck  with Hummingbirds in our back yard before, but watching videos on youtube of Hummingbirds I decided to try again and hang two nectar feeders this August outside our large picture window at the front and within hours there were 4 fighting over territory.  Now we have two with green iridescent feathers. I read on a site that they have need to put on some extra for their big migration to Mexico so I hope they can do that. Lol!  I've had chickadee drinking from it and a grey squirrel drinking upside down. I noticed the notorious hat btw,....;) Love it!

The lady across the street had tons for years. she moved in to assisted living and the new people didn't put out feeders. She asked me to put out feeders for her humming birds. 4 cups water 1 cup sugar 1 tsp honey.  So i feed her birds for her. The nests are real small the make them in my four baskets I have hung high on the wall. first one i saw i thoughy it was the head of a snake hiding in the basket.
