What kind of books do you guys like to read?

It often depends for me on how well it is written rather than the genre.

I do tend to like fantasy, detective stories (Agatha Christie, G.K Chesterton, Dorothy Sayers), classics, biographical works and books on history. I also have to admit that I enjoy some children's books. I also like poetry, books of quotations and reference books. I think in terms of fictional works, The Lord of the Rings has to be my favourite of all time

I only read Christian books. I have found in the past if I embrace a secular book their is content in them I do not want to focus on. I usually read fiction. I like suspense, Amish, historical and some romance. Contemporary and historical. I have learned a lot of history in some of those novels. I have read non fiction but not very often.

My favorite historical fiction is WW2 involving the resistance and saving the Jews.

Right now I am reading Freedom's Ring by Heidi Chiavaroli. She is a new Author. I am just getting into the book so I don't know how many stars I would give it. This is a description of the book

I get most of my books from the library. Probably about 99%. I read so much that it would be expensive to buy all of those books. But occasionally if a book comes along and it has gotten excellent ratings and it is a plot I am very interested in I will buy it.

This is what I am reading now. I am about 1/3 through the book. It is an Amish suspense. I like a lot of Colleen Coble's books. It is an older book from 2008. So far it is very good.

This is a non fiction book which I purchased a long time ago. It is an excellent study on the book of Revelation. It was originally done by John F. Walvoord who died several years ago. A couple of guys have redone the book and have done an excellent job. They take a pretribulation view so take note of that. They do discuss the other views.

I don't read many new books. This is mainly because i live in a house full of them and i have not even read half of them . We have so many books that we don't have enough bookshelves to hold them. Both my parents are big readers. My dad is a theologian and has himself contributed to writing a book or two. my mother is a language teacher and so has various textbooks, prescribed books, etc. 

We have some wonderful books which includes a series of atlases of European history and books about the Ottoman Empire, Decline and fall of the Roman Empire, etc. I like history so mostly these are the ind of books I delve into. I'm also considering reading Narnia again.
