I have always wanted to be a twin. Why I had this nodule behind my ear on my mastoid bone. When I was in my mid 20's I decided to have an ENT take a look at it and he decided it should be removed. I went through a day surgery. He gave me a local anesthetic. When he got in there he found a dermoid tumor. A dermoid tumor is benign tissue that they think at one time belonged to another person when I was developing in my mother's womb. Another words I could have at sometime been a twin but the twin never developed and some of the tissue from that twin went into my body. The ENT was excited when he found this.He said they are rare. He wanted to call a bunch of the Residents( doctors just out of medical school). How embarrassing. I felt like a freak. It had hair and a rough form of a tooth in the tumor.
