Help lift the gag order on our churches

Dear friend,

I have just signed a national petition calling for lawmakers

to lift the gag order that has been silencing our religious

leaders and houses of worship for decades.

Fearing IRS retribution if they speak freely to their congregations,

many religious leaders sit in silence.

However, the Houses of Worship Free Speech Restoration Act

(H.R. 235) seeks to right this terrible wrong by restoring

free speech to our churches and synagogues.

I am asking you to support this legislation by adding your name

For decades, religious leaders have been silent, fearing IRS

retribution if they dare speak out in support of candidates or

against legislation.

Since 1954, when a new law was passed, tens of thousands of

places of worship have been silenced. In fact, some that

refused to be silenced were dragged into court where they

lost their tax-exempt status.

+ + Lawyers are stealing your free speech

Today, lawyers and judges are using this law to strip away not

only the free speech rights of religious leaders, but of

average citizens, as well.

Their goal is obvious: To undermine and destroy democracy as

we know it.

Here at the Center for Reclaiming America, we are devoted to

protecting and preserving the rights of citizens, while

steadfastly defending against unbridled attacks aimed at

removing God from the fabric of our nation.

+ + Righting the Wrong

Unless the grassroots voice of America speaks out, these kinds

of aggressive attacks will continue, until our rights to speak

freely are all but gone.

This is such an important and worthy issue, we have decided to

take strong pro-active action by pouring resources into

distributing our message to as many Americans as we can

in the next 60 days--urging them to help us right this

wrong by adding their names to our national petition.

Just as soon as we reach our goal of 100,000 citizens, we will

present them to key lawmakers demanding the "gag order" be lifted

on our houses of worship.

It can only get better. I know my pastor expresses his point of view but maybe some pastors don't.

I hope you will sign the petition anyway because maybe there is some stuff going on that we don't know about.
