Amen brother, I think you said a mouthful, and repent as much as we need.....it prepares the way of the Lord. I'm thinking of where Jesus said regarding those who were pointing to their works, "Lord, Lord, did we not.....", and Jesus will say to those, "Away from me, I never knew you." So then do we not need to be like David........"Search me and know me oh God and see if there be any wicked way in me"......and I just think that even if we have to cry a river of repentance every day for ten years, allow the Lord to purge the threshing floor of our hearts and know us. 2Ch 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land/heart/soul. What I read is that it's not just a gospel of salvation.....but it's the gospel of the KINGdom.....we need Him to possess us completely, to rule & reign on the throne of our life as Lord and King. No longer us doing "our" works to try and please Him, but let Him possess and have ownership of this vessel of our heart, life and body, Him doing "His" works through us. That is the sabbath rest that we must enter into (Hebrews 4).

It is nothing related to good works, they were wicked in living as they were not abiding in Christ. "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." - John 15:4 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned." - John 15:6 We can say they are many of the Catholic Church, and those who say "It is by grace, no need to repent". It is more related to a dead faith in Christ, actually.

Exactly. "But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him." - 1 Corinthians 8:3 "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith." - 1 John 5:3-

On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and (we) cast out demons in your name, and (we) do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Mat 7:22-23) Can't you see, they were appealing to their works? They mentioned their good deeds, but were turned away for being workers of iniquity, sinful behavior.
