He was prolific writer back in the seventeenth century. Have enjoyed his writings. Or anything by Watchman Nee or Andrew Murray. Have enjoyed their writing also. Murray wrote; “freedom from a self-centered life” and Nee wrote; “release of the spirit” both excellent reads. WN’s the Normal Christian life, the chapters about Romans 6-7 were a life changer for me. Murray was a author God used in a big way in my life also. Love them both. I enjoy History, biographies and mysteries. I always been of the mind it’s what each person’s relationship with Christ is teaching them that is of first importance. God (I believe) will use this or that in one persons life, and something or another in another’s life. That which God uses to grow, is not as important as the growth itself. For to be conformed to Him in all things is the goal. So each person can help point the other toward Christ, but the growth has to come from the inside out. So if God is using this or that book in one’s life, it is for their building up. For God has promised to prefect that which concerns us. So blessings as God has free rein to use that which pleases Him. Much love in Christ, Not me
Guest
If I had to choose a single book outside of the Bible for a Christian to read it would be "The Saving Life of Christ" By Major Ian Thomas. This book gives a clear understanding of what it means to be "crucified with Christ" and that it's "no longer we who live but Christ lives in us" (Galatians 2:20) What I like about this book is how it uses Israel's exodus from Egypt and entry into Canaan to give the reader a clear understanding of the life God intends for us as believers to have. Any Christian who reads this book, whether they are a new believer or have been a believer for many years, will benefit from reading it.

Simple one page at a time of great spiritual discernment. Insights of a great Christian brother. Plenty of preowned copies on E bay for less than four bucks, free shipping. Killer deal.
Guest In Him
fwiw I've read Oswald's Utmost for years. One of my favorites of his was 6.15 paraphrased: You have inherited the Divine Nature 2Peter1:4...now screw your attention down and form habits, give diligence, concentrate--abide in Me--in intellectual matters, in money matters; determine to abide in Jesus wherever you are placed. Have always admired those who only read the Bible. I knew a brother, deceased now, who only read the bible and knew the scriptures beyond any natural ability and revelation; and when he used the Sword, it was always anointed...
