Blindseeker,

I'm not ignoring you, I am just frankly sick and tired of this.  I may get back to it in a few days, I may not.  I know you spent a lot of time here and I will try to answer.

God told me to sow the Word, He didn't say anything about watering it, weeding the garden, adding fertilizer and scaring off the crows.      :D

You know Blindseeker,

I think the real issue that concerns me the most is:  What are we teaching people when we lead them to Christ?  Are we teaching them that He died for their sins and they NEED a savior because they are sinners who will be judged before a holy God and that the gift is free?   -OR- Are we telling them that this is what we think they have to do to be saved; and then giving them a list of do's and don'ts?

See, the first is the gospel.

The second is another gospel.

That's my only worry.  Personal conviction is one thing, gospel that saves is another.

I just hope your personal convictions aren't placed as burdens around the necks of sincere children of God who are just looking for Him.

When you lead someone to Christ, do you tell them that the blood saves them and the work was already done and the price paid?  Or do you tell them that salvation is dependant upon how holy we look and feel?

Do you preach the gospel+nothing or the gospel+works.

No, I am not going to change my position because no man could have taught me what I know.  God came to me because I asked and told me, not some person in the church who thought maybe I had it all wrong.

WordSower,

I preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified for a propitation for the sins of the world, and His resurrection and sending of His Holy Spirit that we might be saved by His indwelling life enabling us to be godly (Romans 5:10).

Neither do I B/S You dont lead some one to Christ and then just leave them with a bowl of bread and milk. Sooner or later they have to be weaned. As always I enjoyed your reading, or lesson, whatever.  in Christ, eric.

Blindseeker,

Do you have a problem with these verses?

Acts 15:25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen

>men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

> 26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

> 27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell [you] the

>same things by mouth.

> 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no

>greater burden than these necessary things;

> 29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from

>things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves,

>ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

> 30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had

>gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

> 31 [Which] when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

I would like to ask you one more time why you have a problem with me not observing the Sabbath on Saturday and it's no big deal if Suzanne observes Sunday?

Forgive me for being dense, but are you saying that we save ourselves with Jesus' help?

Wordsower!

Bless you! Shout it from the mountaintops.
