What do you tell someone who asks you "Who created God?" ?

I could only go to scripture that tells us that our God is a Jealous God.

God was not created. God has existed before creation. God has always existed.

God is not a created being.

God has no beginning nor any end.

It is God that has created all that has been created, including the concept  of time itself from an eternity of time before time to an eternity of time after time eternal to come. He is I AM

As Gandalf has said, 'Who is asking?

If an atheist/agnostic you could ask them who or what caused the big bang to happen and when they've finished spluttering point out that what ever has a begining also has a cause.

The universe has a begining and must have something that caused it to begin.

Then ask them what caused what ever caused the big bang to happen to exist and ditto into infinity or can they comprehend the idea of a supernatural being that exists outside of our universe and so no subject to its laws or to time that is God.

I also told him that if we can clone than the probability of God existing to not is not debatable.

We envision a creator who was uncreated and has no beginning and yet we have no solid evidence that this is true. But we do have solid evidence of the reality of our physical universe. Why does the universe need a beginning? I see no compelling reason why not.

well what i always say to people who question me about God is that if we can clone an animal than the probability of a creator is more significant than that of not. It breaks down to the fact that God exist outside of time. That he is eternal. but the question will always linger in my mind and the fact of the matter is is that no one knows the answer. So.....i dont care what you say but you dont know and a christian should be prepared to answer that question. OUR GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD.

It would seem to me no one created God, because if someone created God, wouldn't that being be God?

I have always thought it very strange that we accept as characteristic of God that which we find as a failing or even an evil in mankind.

There are several indicators in physics. Take the two laws of thermodynamics for example.

1. The law of conservation. We live in a closed system. A close universe. Nothing can be added, nothing taken away.

2. The law of maximum entropy. All tends from order to disorder. All tends to cool down from hot to cold.

1. From nothing nothing comes, so the universe must be eternal. Right?

2. Wrong. The universe would be totally disordered and cold if it was eternal.

So how did it all come into being and be so ordered?

Some ONE is in fact eternal AND capable of transcending the laws of physics in his being and his ability to create or

annihilate anything including the universe itself.

For those who try to limit God to the physics of beginning, middle, and end... they should consider what even atheists concede to:

For the universe to even exist something (someone) had to be eternal... which is existence without beginning or end.

My question to God will be:

With all the pain and trouble creation caused him (and the creation) why bother creating?

Love?

Three equal individuals in the one God had perfect and unique and sole existence.

Perfect communication. Etc.

God is love so all three are love.

I mean, I am glad he created us, but I just can't get my head around why...

Show them Colossians 1: and Revelation: God = First and Last, Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End, He is the Creator of ALL THINGS!!

If God is the First, then He has always existed!!   That is rather clear there was nothing before God!!
