What does it mean when the holy spirit takes over during prayer?

I don't understand about "vertical" and "horizontal" as used here

It's imagery taken from the Cross, ...the cross bar is horizontal and is a reference to our "horizontal" relation with Father through prayer and intercession, reading His Word and have Him "reveal" to us it's meaning or any other relationship we might have on the "horizontal" plane with His Church or the world.

The vertical is the up right post of the Cross and it's hard to explain, ...it's almost you have to experience it to really understand it, ...the closest I can come to explain it is when we go to Him with our soul/spirit vexed, troubled, like when the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings, ...it's like our heart/soul is so broken over something, Father takes us in His arms and comforts us, ...He doesn't resolve the problem immediately, ...He allows us to go through it to build our faith, ...to learn the needed lesson, He strengthens us so that we can continue, ...I guess a good example is when an Angel came and strengthened Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. Luke 22:43

I hope that helps...

That's so not true

1 Cor 14:27-28

27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
