Let us not forget skateboards. When this came into being, it never left popularity. It waned a somewhat but always made a comeback. Surf music duo Jan & Dean came out with a popular song with this repeat chorus, "Grab your boards and go sidewalk surfing with me." The only problem? Wipeouts on concrete hurt far more than crashing into a wave you couldn't make. Ouch, that hurts! And skateboarding became an official sport. No, I never got that good at it. Still fun though, if you didn't have a major accident. I was pretty fortunate. Edited May 17, 2020 by BeauJangles

I still see skateboarders now cruising down Wilshire Blvd. There's a skateboard area in a park near me. The kids always avoid me so they won't run into me....once when some were gathered talking on the sidewalk, they stepped to the side to let me pass by. Always seem nice. 1

My second record was “ I get Around” by The Beach Boys....... My third purchase was “ Twist and Shout” by The Beatles........from that point it was “Beach Boys WHO?”...... I previously thought The Beach Boys were pretty good.....I suppose they were.....They just could not compete with The Beatles.... I was telling my brother just the other day that if one wanted to see the difference between The Beatles and The Beach Boys, take a look at the Album Cover Of “ Pet Sounds”...... then look at the cover of Sgt Pepper.....that’s the difference in a nutshell.......

Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Four Tops, The Marvelettes, Sam & Dave, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, the list is endless. Yeah, they were all great.
