If you are in the valley of affliction, may you experience, as I have with my dear Elsie, the truth of this promise. One of many promises in the Bible that has strengthened and sustained God's children for centuries is Philippians 4:19: "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Luke 6:38, Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Matthew 6:33 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. When you have your priorities right and the kingdom being number one priority in your life then all the blessings of the kingdom will be added and manifested in our life as proof of our priorities. But Paul was not only parroting Biblical verses to feed the poor saints in Jerusalem, he endeavoured to gather donation for them. 1 Cor 16 1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. 3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. The poor widow who donated the biggest value of charity she remained poor and did not become rich. God does not promise us money for our needs unless we do some jobs. It is important to observe that The Creator will supply: 1 - all (and not some) of our needs. 2 - our needs (and not our desires); 3 - according to His riches (and not according to our miseries); 4 - our needs in glory (and not in the flesh); 5 - our needs by Christ Jesus (and not by our expectance in order to satisfy our fleshy wishes).
