I've been doing life wrong. I believe I fit the categories mentioned over & over, and I'm scared to death. Wrong choices and sinful behaviour drag us down and make us bitter and miserable. Hypocrisy torments us with guilt at all hours of the day and can cause depression. Think about what you have in your life that is unhelpful, and that includes people who hold you back. Decide on changes you must make. Always remember, you have an enemy who is a liar and a destroyer, but in Christ there is victory over him. Think about life being fragile. The future is uncertain and life quickly passes us by. Think about giving an account, as we all will have to do. Think about being in debt to God. Tell Him directly why your life is wrong and messed up. Tell Him you want to be clean, even if you've told Him before, over and over. Believe that He will forgive you. Come to terms with the fact that you are called to live your life with Him in a way that He would approve of. If you can, contact those who are walking with Christ. They will have clean hands and pure hearts and will pray to God for you. And always remember that you can be who Christ wants you to be. Believe He can protect you and strengthen you for these dreadful battles. It helps to know that many have been in dark places too and escaped to a much better place. People love to give advice (I do as well), but no one is very good following it. The fact is we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. More than that, we cannot fix our own sin. Only Christ is able. We think, "If I could only reduce the number of sins between me and God, I can shorten the distance between us." "No one ever tells us that tomorrow, 35 more wheelbarrows full of sin are dumped into our laps." We spend more time thinking about our sins than we do Jesus. Romans 7:5 tells us: "When we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our bodies so that we bore fruit for death." That is a astonishing passage. Our sinful passions are actually heightened by the very works of the law we use to try to get rid of them. Rather, when I lust, I go to Jesus; when I talk behind someone's back, I go to Jesus; when I am angry without cause, I take it to Jesus. What I dwell on becomes me. Therefore I stop dwelling on my sins, and start dwelling on Jesus. He---not me---is the only one who can transform my heart. Go to him as a child goes to his father for help, safety, and wisdom. I need to do something different. As the Bible says, ' The wages of sin are death, while the free gift of God is eternal life.' You or I or anyone cannot do anything to deserve God's love etc but we can ask him. As mix murder said tell God what you feel or think about your life. Tell him you want to change, but are frightened that you do not have the means to change. Tell him you are sorry for how you have lived and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour. Then get in touch with a church, try the Christianity explored web site for a church in your area that runs this course and sign up or get InTouch. The Christian life is not an easy life, one is always struggling with sin and sadly failing and having to come back to Jesus to admit it. However, I remind you of a very important spiritual lesson from King David: Psalm 66:16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. 17 I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. 18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. You did not mention anything about this, so I will directly ask you: If you were to die tonight, and stand before God what would be your answer if He should ask you, "Why should I let you into heaven?"
