The Christian life is like a country road, with many side roads we call sin. If we find ourselves down one of these side roads, we have to reverse course and head back to the main road. This is repentance, turning away from sin and back to God. This happens when the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and our heart is soft enough to hear. This includes being toxic to each other Edited February 26, 2021 by Riverwalker

You stop doing what you were doing? Repent basically means to "turn around". 1

I'll not take the angry bait you are dangling, but I will answer your original question. How do we repent? I'll just leave one method here. There are others. Three steps taken from and adjusted from 2 Timothy 2:22 You have to recognize what a spiritual danger you are in - not just feeling crummy about something you did - but a full on face-forward recognition that you are in peril and are causing an offensive stench before God if you keep going like you are. "FLEE" from those sins. You can't run from something unless you are running TO something. If you don't run TO something - you will circle back to sinful ways. RUN TO "righteousness, faith, love, and peace". Run to the presence and person of God, himself. Run to the cleansing blood of Christ. You can't do this alone as well as with other. Run to God "along with those who call on the LORD from a pure heart". Seek out those who have conquered the struggle and associate with them. Find a church family that works. So you officially don't believe in Eternal security or assurance of being saved, you think you could go to hell when you die? If you say "no" and you don't explain how Jesus can't lose anybody the Father gave to him, you might be confused?

If you say "no" and you don't explain how Jesus can't lose anybody the Father gave to him, you might be confused? When we become Christians, we still sin, we still fall. But we get up. Repentance brings us back into a right standing with God so that we can once again go forward
