People in general speaking, really, really want to believe that those Apocrypha books are on par with scripture.

Not true.

Additional reading material much like books on ancient middle east religion and culture.

Look at all the trashy suss books in a big Christian bookstore.

Can anyone post any verses from Enoch to show those who don’t know how wicked this book is? I have not seen anything wicked in what I’ve read so far nor do I feel tempted to join the occult but if someone can show me please so I’ll see what’s coming up

Moreover Azazyel taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates, the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows, the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and of all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered.

Although this is an apocryphal book, there is substance contained within the Christian context:  people can be taught to be violent.  What I ponder is how many of our modern sports promote violence in the way that players are encourage to smash into each other at full running speed or to inflict blows that can seriously damage the human body?  What about dare-devil sports?  Do they fall into this category promoting violence?

Thoughts?

To both your question to myself directly and to this general question I will post a response later today. I am in my office at the moment and so logged into a work computer. But I do feel that both of your questions are perfectly valid and both demand a proper explanation.

I woke to a some posts reported on this OP and it seems to be a bunch more pages to read through.

I wonder if it has gone beyond any usefulness.

I read through about 7 pages posted since 17 hours ago and have hidden a lot of posts that are off topic---not necessarily transgressions of the TOS---but off the topic and directed at individuals. Sometimes these get so embedded that the baby has to be tossed.

I've done my best---not perfect to be sure. Perhaps the OP topic can continue without the other stuff. We will see.

What are you asking?

What was the definition of wicket in the time this book was written, the time before the Cross and for the Jewish people who were under the Law of Moses?

God said that time to people:

Because of your wickedness to go after other Gods and do the things those people do, the things I told you not to do.

Is this your definition of wickedness?

2. Impiety increased; fornication multiplied; and they transgressed and corrupted all their ways.

3. Amazarak taught all the sorcerers, and dividers of roots:

4. Armers taught the solution of sorcery;

5. Barkayal taught the observers of the stars;

6. Akibeel taught signs;

7. Tamiel taught astronomy;

8. And Asaradel taught the motion of the moon.

9. And men, being destroyed, cried out; and their voice reached to heaven.

From the book of Enoch chapter 8, these are the things taught by fallen angels.

The title of the OP is "God did not teach us those things".

This Book was written before the Cross.

One of the relevant questions is not just what is the name of the author of this book, but who the author was.

Was he an Israelite, and from what tribe was he from?

Was he a procylite?

We must know whether the author was in good standing to the Law of Moses, and if he was an Israelite or a Jew or a procylite?
