They are the Health "experts" who aggressively try to demonize certain foods that THEY claim will kill you, for example butter, eggs, and beef.. What about the Old Testament Levitical laws restricting certain types of foods? Answer: Those laws were ONLY for the nation of Israel at that particular time in THEIR history. The Lord Jesus later "declared all foods clean" Mark 7:19 (and again in Acts 10:15.) So? So eat animals. And eat their by-products such as milk, butter, eggs, cheese, etc If eating animals was bad for you, the Sovereign God would not have put Genesis 9:3 and Mark 7:19 and Acts 10:15 in the Bible. Moderation in all things. We don't need to eat 22 ounce rib-eye steaks every day We need to eat both plants and animals and their by-products because of their nutritional value. So eat some of both. I would only say there is evidence that a high in fat diet can kill a man early. As you say all things in moderation. The scriptures you gave among other release men as practicing vegetarians. I think it is also important to note that some eastern religions see all animals as sacred. The Hindu belief teaches men can be reincarnated as animals or that animal life is equal to human life. THIS is more likely where many people end up becoming vegetarians by believing the books written by people practicing these religions. There seems to be a general consensus in the larger parts of society today that favors vegetarianism over meat eating. There are plenty of arguments, some going back to Genesis since Adam was a vegetarian in the beginning or at least he was said to be. If you believe this, then eating meat might seem to be taking a step down. A step toward barbarianism and so some vegetarians see themselves as elitist over meat eaters. They have found the better way to get along with planet earth. Now I come from the south USA. Do I need say any more? The truth is somewhere in the middle. That diet was high in fat and salt while delicious it's the reason so many are walking around with pot bellies and dying early of heart attacks. One a week I'll often make myself a nice breakfast with, eggs, bacon or ham, grits or rice and think nothing of it. Last week I made corned beef hash mixed with two eggs and it was wonderful. If I did it every day I would be heavier than I already am. In the summer I tend to cook out and often it's beef. I had a certain medical procedure the other day that wouldn't let me eat for over 24 hours. I stopped at the first Texas Roadhouse on the way home and did it up right. My body thanked me. I would continue but it's my lunch time and I'm thinking a hamburger wouldn't taste bad right about now. To kill your own animals and cook them would be the best way, being sure to drain out all the blood first, as the Bible instructs. No fast food meat is prepared in the proper manner. Most fast food meat will have blood in it. The apostles specifically commanded us to not eat foods with blood in it. The laws they instruct us to keep are not eating things with blood in it, not eating things sacrificed to idols and to flee fornication. But yes, all things in moderation regarding the consumption of animal meat. Originally, though, vegetation and fruit, and not flesh, were given man as his diet. But after the Flood, God added animal flesh, commanding, however, that “flesh with its soul—its blood—you must not eat.”—Ge 9:3, 4.
