I think that christendom has failed in part by not being more engaged in these affairs…salt and light. We have a practical duel citizenship, if you will.

This is true in the realm of ideas via education, civics and politics.

In fact in all areas we can contact. It is not sufficient to stand by and wait.

imo

I always try to remind myself that while I am in this world, I am really not a part of this world, spiritually.  When I was born-again I was born of the Spirit of God and He came to live inside of me.  My body is here though and the Lord said to spread His gospel of peace and salvation to other human beings.  I am supposed to plant seeds of salvation and as a human being the only way to do that is to get my feet dirty and walk in the world speaking His words with my human voice from my human heart and mind.  At this point in time I believe it is imperative for every born again believer to be speaking out to those people within hearing distance of them about Jesus and His eternal salvation.

Matthew 9:38 (NKJV)
Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Luke 10:2 (NKJV)
Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

If we are not laboring for the harvest of the Lord then what are we really doing for Him?

Russia has announced to the Ukraine cites near to the Russian and 'friendly' borders that it will alow safe passge to refugees directly to Russia and its allies.

The Ukraines say this is IMMORAL.

Putin appears also to be trying to remove internet and phone services in Ukraine.

Urban warefare will be the end of the Russian invasion. Putin never imagined that his war would be stalled this way. If you understand urban warfare you will know it takes 5 to 1 invading troups to overcome the incumbents. The majority of the invading army is unprepared and not trained in this kind of thing.

It will never work for Putin this way. The tremendous spirit of the Ukraines can hearken back to Lennigrad and other WWII scenarious. Here a handful of Russians overcame the German might.

Ukraine will win as long as they take heart and keep up their spirits.

The DoD wanted to be sure that the Army's nuclear force could get the job done, my friend. Who among us prays that anyone should be assassinated or die? Is it our place to curse what is already cursed, adding more evil to the world? Or, is it our place to be peacemakers?

The answer is clear to me. This is the peril of becoming embroiled in the machinations of wicked men: we walk in the flesh and fulfill its lusts. The meek shall inherit the earth. Our inheritance is to bind their kings and generals with the high praise of God upon our lips, and a two-edged sword in hand. The Son of God is our Captain and we serve Him alone. :)

Good reminder for us all brother.  We desire the death of no-one.

It is even hard to decipher who the bad guy really is sometimes with so many moving parts...when it comes to governments I don't think there really is a good guy anymore, or if there ever even was.  All we can do is pray according to the best information we believe we have, that the Lord will show mercy and grant justice to the suffering innocent parties caught up in all this, and pray also that the whole world doesn't catch fire....however He answers is up to Him.

You sound like a neo-calvinist :).

BTW, I agree with your statement. The church in the West has ceded much of the realms of human activity and has focussed on a personal relationship with Christ. I'm not sure if that is correlated to the rise of intense individualism.

Have you read Francis Schaeffer?

Not yet, although I generally know what he has to say. Our denomination holds a lot of worldview ideas from Kuyper and Bavinck. Both were advocates for Christianity to be involved in all aspects of human activity.
