Nobody is saying this.  :)

Again, I'm not sure if you are avoiding the context of the passage you referenced.  :)

The two witnesses are a picture of Moses and Aaron before Pharoah as a testimony against their gods.

These 2 prophets will be doing signs and wonders just as Moses and Aaron did in Exodus to show the world that the LORD is most High over all the earth.

Be blessed.

The disciples of Jesus asked Jesus if they should make fire come down out of heaven to kill people. Jesus rebuked them.

Disciples of Jesus are not supposed to try to act like Elijah.

But there is one in Revelation who will make fire come down out of heaven.

https://biblehub.com/revelation/13-13.htm

When the leaders of the Gentiles give the command fire from thier mouths, then fire will come down out of heaven to destroy thier enemies.

Jesus never commanded his disciples to kill. Not once did he command his disciples to kill.

The two witnesses will ascend  into heaven caused by the abomination of desolation. As they have done, let it be done to them.

Shalom brother,

You are equating two different situations ... and yes we as disciples of Yeshua are never to call for any violence.  :)

However, the passage in REVELATION is specifically a testimony against the Kingdom of darkness and a warning to the nations that the Lord is returning soon!

When you start equating that the two witnesses to whom God pours the spirit of life into ... Rev 11:11  And after three days and a half, a spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. And great fear fell on those seeing them.

Whether you realize it or not, you are becoming the accuser of the brethren ... or accusing that which is of God to be that of the Kingdom of Darkness.

Rev 11:12  And they heard a great voice from Heaven saying to them, Come up here. And they went up to Heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.

Who is the ENEMIES of the Two Prophets?

Rev 11:7  And when they complete their testimony, the beast coming up out of the abyss will make war against them and will overcome them and kill them.

Be blessed,

George

I judge them by thier works just as Jesus said to do. Yes they may be Christians, but they are doing the exact opposite of what Jesus commanded them to do.

Any Christian who kills and torments other people are not very good Christians to me. If Jesus had wanted us to torment others he would have plainly said so. Insted he rebuked anyone who even mentions it.

There's no telling how many Christians those witnesses torment while they believe they are killing people for Christ.

This was NOT FOR YOU ... nor for any Christian.   Please stop equating the two very DIFFERENT set of circumstances.  Read the passage in its context.  Show me in the PASSAGE itself that these TWO WITNESSES are not from God.   :)

Be blessed ...

Luke 6:31

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Why do those who call Jesus lord prefer to kill and torment, rather than do as he says?

When Jesus is coming back ... He's coming back to rule with a rod of iron.  How do you think Jesus is coming back?  To slaughter his enemies.

Rev 19:19  And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth and their armies, being gathered to make war against Him who sat on the horse, and against His army.

Rev 19:20  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet doing signs before it, (by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast), and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.

Rev 19:21  And the rest were slain by the sword of Him who sat on the horse, it proceeding out of His mouth. And all the birds were filled from their flesh.

Honestly, when you start assigning to the prophets of God as messengers of the enemy ... you are playing with fire.

The prophets are prophesying with God's Power!

Rev 11:3  And I will give power to My two witnesses, and they will prophesy a thousand, two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

Be blessed,

George

Nicely put.

It states that they lay in the street where "thier Lord" was crucified.

If Christ is thier Lord, then why do they do the exact opposite of what Christ commands them? What kind of prophet does the exact opposite of what they are commanded to do?

Just now, Shilohsfoal said:

The 2 witnesses are simply PROPHESYING and ONLY STRIKE those who TRY TO KILL THEM ... and they will not be permitted to do so until their witness is completed.

The passage is giving you clues of whom the witnesses are.

For example ...

They have the power to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying,

An indication that this may be Elijah as he never died ... and in His days caused a drought.

1Ki 17:1  Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”

... and and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague

This is why many people believe the 2nd witness to be Moses ... as this is what Moses did in the Exodus.

Those who hold to this view point to the time Yeshua was with Moses and Elijah at the transfiguration.

Others believe it's Enoch since he did not pass away and was taken up.  In the book of Jasher, he is also known as the Law-Giver.

Since the Bible is not specific, we shouldn't be dogmatic as to whom these 2 witnesses are, however one thing is absolutely shown in the Scriptures ... these 2 witnesses are from GOD and SENT by GOD, and will be RECEIVED by God!

Rev 11:3  And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

Rev 11:11  But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.

Rev 11:12  Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.

Be blessed!

George

You've just proven your own point ... their LORD was Jesus!

Rev 11:8  and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.

The second is this, love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these.
