It's a no brainer.
He cares enough to state the truth, and keep his marriage safe.
If Christians, she should know this, and submit to his decision.
He knows he is the head and the most responsible for his marriage.
And it seems he knows better his wife's friend than his wife does.
He may trust his wife, but not her friend.

"runabout Reann"??

"what she gets up to on her trips"??

He  sound like a gossip to me and not a concerned husband.  He could have worded this SOOOOO much better.

This whole conversation and each other's tone shows that this couple has more problems that "runabout Reann"

I don't think that this is a submission situation.

If it were reversed and the husband was invited to a bachelor party of his best friend in Las Vegas and the best friend was known for visiting strip clubs.....

....wouldn't the wife have the right to express that she did  not want him to go?  And wouldn't he have the responsibiity to make her happy, relieved, feeling like he loves her more than the best friend and his antics?

That's what I see.

She shouldn't go because her husband has worries and she should wish to make him happy, relieve him, and leave him feeling like she loves him more than this best friend and her antics.

Oy. These "scenarios" never fail to leave something desired.

The "husband" is a gossip.

I think he is talking very disrespectful about his wife’s friend, he may have a point, but he needs to look at how he’s wording his message in a text, that’s my opinion...so an Oy Vey from me.

I second that.

The wife needs to have better Christian discernment. Is she a true Christian or a counterfeit Christian?

"I don't think that this is a submission situation"

Probably not in today's climate.

"If it were reversed and the husband "....................................

The OP is not talking about what if's, but

If her husband was the type to go to bachelor parties in Vegas with friends that notoriously hit the strip clubs, I doubt he would be a Christian in good standing, nor worry very much about his wife's friends.
That was not the scenario, nor any of these other whit ifs posted. I replied to the OP....

I have had to be the head, responsible for my family for over a half century. It's not always fun, and can be a very heavy load.
I praise God for my wife who understands the roles God has designed for each of us. In actuality, she makes most decisions about what we do, she's smart,  and I am grateful for her wisdom. But the final choice, according to God,  falls on me.
(Like the OP, a no brainer)

the inspiration was this- My former pastor once told us in a sermon, that if your spouse doesnt want you to be around certain people, you should heed them. Made me wonder. While i dont think it should be always like that, i think it in this situation has some relevance because

1) Sometimes we can be totally blind to how rotten our friends can be. Other people notice , but we somehow cant until they do something really drastic, then it all comes back.

2) We warn kids about the influence of bad company but adults have to be mindful ourselves. sometimes normally well behaved people can totally turn when they attach themselves to trouble makers- Ive seen this at workplaces. A peaceful office or school can become a warzone when one troublemaker gets transferred then and gets a following.

3) Travel can bring out the worst in people because when were away from almost everyone we know we can "free up" thinking noone will know.  Ask any person working in the tourist industry about the antics people get up to while  on trips. These can sometimes be engaged, married  people.

I would generally hope that a couple has this conversation in person and not by text.
