In scripture, we read the beast out of the Pitt and the ten horns hate the prostitute (which is a city) and will attack her and burn her.

Revelation 17:16-18

The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.

For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled.

The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”

We also read in scripture what city the beast attacks.

Rev 11:3-8

And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”

If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.

They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.

Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified

Now the question is this.

What are the two Christian witnesses doing with the drunk prostitute?

Mathew 24:48-51

But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’

and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.

The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.

He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I think your conclusion came from a slight, ever so slight, misreading of the grammar. The Beast does not attack Jerusalem here. He attacks the two Witnesses.

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. (Re 11:7).

The events of Chapter 17 are about something else. Mystery Babylon the Great is the religion developed by Nimrod in Babel. All six world powers of the Bible followed it. But if the Beast wants to direct worship to HIMSELF ALONE, he must destroyany religion on earth. So, after being the religion of the world for over 4,000 years, it is destroyed, not by God, but by the 10 kings that gave their power to the Beast.

The Two Witnesses are two men who testify of God's judgment on two things. (i) With the Beast living in Jerusalem, Jerusalem is the POLITICAL capital of the world. The ungodliness of the Nations is about to be judged. (ii) With the Beast in the Holy of Holies, Jerusalem is the RELIGIOUS capital of the world. The Law-breaking Israel who allowed a Gentile king in God's temple will be judged.

No, according to scripture, Jerusalem is attacked by those nations. A bruttal assault. They attack it, and take control of it.

Zechariah 14:2

I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.

You better believe the nations of the beast attack Jerusalem. They will burn her flesh just like revelation says. Can't really blame them though. They are doing to her as she has done to them. They are returning the favor.

I didn't deny that. My answer was "here" - meaning in Chapter 11. You implied that Jerusalem was The Great Whore. Your logic was that the Beast attacked the Great Whore (which is revealed in Chapter 17), which was Jerusalem, and that the Two Witnesses were fraternizing with the Whore because they testified 1260 days in Jerusalem. I merely pointed out that Jerusalem is not attacked "here" in Chapter 11. The attack was on the Two Witnesses.

If I'm right, then there must be another reason why the Beast attacks Jerusalem. What do you think it is?

It only mentions them killing people and tormenting people. Not witnessing.

But why in the harlot that kills prophets and saints ?

Why not be with someone else?

And this is who they want to keep company with.

Revelation 18:24

In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people, of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.”

The meaning of the word "Witness" is not preaching the gospel. It means that they witnessed something and are willing to tell about it (even to their hurt). That is why there is such a strong argument that one was Enoch and one was Elijah. Enoch witnessed the conditions among men that led to the great flood, and Elijah witnessed Israel's idolatry and subsequent judgment.

Romans 1 shows that God's wrath is visited on ungodliness - which the Nations will multiply in the last days. And the Covenant of Law made with Israel tells of dire consequences if they worship a creature. In both cases, God's patience was at an end.

Well, these two witnesses seem to show up the same time the armed forces of the north do.

Same time the daily sacrifice is abolished.

And while these two witnesses torment the nations, the armed forces of the north are attacking those nations.

Daniel 11:39

He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price.

And at the same time the beast attacks and kills them, the king of the south attacks the armed forces of the north.

Daniel 11:40

At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood.

And three and a half days after the beast kills those two witnesses, a severe earthquake hits Jerusalem and the two witnesses ascend into the sky in a cloud.

Daniel 11:44

But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.

It is at that time that there will be great tribulation, the likes of which have never been seen, and at that time the resurection of Daniel's people takes place.

Daniel 12:1-2

At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

Isn't it funny how the events in Revelation match the events in Daniel 11.Right up till the abomination that causes Jerusalems desolation is placed in Jerusalem after the beast from the Pitt takes control of it.
