I think some people can be too quick on the "report" button.

I would like to point out this s/Spiritual reality:
Everything we do... we are to do so as unto the Lord. So, if in fact this is our motivation then no offense should occur when we are treated poorly... because we know it is not from The Lord! In fact, it will reveal in us the reality of our motivations...

Colossians 3:22 (KJV)

[22] Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

[23] And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

[24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

[25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Every time I see people getting offended, I know what spirit they are of...

Relevant passage there, indeed.............

Then I guess I am pathetic. I report many posts that tend to be personal attacks or other violations of the terms of service.

Disagreement is fine. Personal attacks are not fine, and sadly too often people get emotional and resort to personal attacks.

I have....but just a few times.  For profanity [bad profanity], sock puppets, mean spiritedness, and anything like that.

Bear in mind that reporting something is not always "telling on someone" nor complaining to George. There may be a topic which belongs in a particular subforum which our brother established specifically for discussions about the matter at hand (Calvinism and Arminianism, for example). The report serves as the "eyes and ears" of the moderators who volunteer their time to serve this ministry.

Once in while, posts which are entirely inappropriate do indeed surface. Reporting these posts is not a bid to land the member in question in trouble... rather, it's an opportunity for the one who did such a thing to receive care and counseling where it's needed the most.

When it's necessary for me to intervene in a dispute between clients where I work, I'm not doing so to discipline anyone involved. I do this for the sake of peace so that this remains a safe place for everyone. No one should fear for their lives in this shelter at any time. As it turns out, many disputes are caused by personal issues the complainants are currently struggling with in their lives. It's my job to observe, listen, and render judgment in the best interests of all.

This applies to Worthy as well. If what we do is in the interest of all, then the interests of all are served.

I think this operation is trying to serve the rules of the forum... as I speak individually to the motivation of heart...

Here's a good verse:

"He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city." (Proverbs 16.32)
